Chapter 1009
The next second, Carson took a step back suddenly and said in shock, "Why me?" Trevor chuckled.
"What's wrong? What's with the reaction? Just do us a favor! If the both of us go over to look for the other two, she's going to be left alone, and it's going to be awkward for her. She is a guest!" he said.
"That's right! You're just helping to entertain her!" Willy said.
"How can the both of you do this to me? Are we friends or not? You're bullying me together!" Carson whined, then pointed at Nicholas, who was next to him.
"Why don't you ask him to do it? Or, there is Wyatt!" he said.
Why did they ask him to deal with that arrogant woman? She dared to call him a sissy! He was going to remember that forever!
Willy coughed lightly, and said.
"I wouldn't dare to do so! Did you not notice that someone has been staring at Mr. Nick for the entire time? I'd ask Wyatt to do so, but he seems
to be busy!"
Carson looked in the direction where Willy was looking, and noticed that Caroline was peering at Nicholas secretly every once in a while. Then he turned to the side, and saw Wyatt busy texting on his phone. They didn't know who he was texting, but he had been doing that for the whole night, and he probably didn't hear what they were talking about either.
Just then, Nicholas turned around to take a look as well, and his eyes met the timid gaze from behind him. Was is that little girl?
At the same time, Trevor furrowed his brows. Was it Caroline?
No way!
Since when did she become so shy and reserved? Shouldn't she be doing whatever she wanted and came forward with him around? Why did she have to look for Nicholas?
Carson looked around and realized that he was indeed the only one who was free!
Yet, why did it have to be that hot-tempered lady?
Carson breathed a deep sigh, and he was reluctant to move.
Willy extended his arm and pulled him up, saying, "Come on, help your brothers out! Do what it takes!"
"Hey Carson, could it be that you have some other intentions towards Miss Weil? Why else would you be so against talking to such a beauty? Also, she's technically working in the same medicine industry as you are!" Trevor teased.
Shouldn't he have taken the initiative to look for a common topic between them? Why did he seem so reluctant when it came to talking to Sharon?
"Could it be that you're afraid of losing to her?" he asked.
As soon as Trevor had spoken, Willy couldn't help but to chuckle. Just as he was about to say something, Carson denied at once.
"How is that possible! I'm an actual Doctor of Medicine! I'll go right now!" he said.
Carson muttered to himself, and gave Willy a glare and a warning gesture before he left. Then, he walked over to the lounge at the other side.
"What happened between them?" Nicholas asked.
Willy explained the incident between the two of them to Nicholas and Trevor as he asked, and they understood immediately. The three of them laughed as they had another drink. After seeing Carson leading Sharon onto the dance floor, Willy and Trevor went over to the lounge as well.
Nicholas put down his wine glass
and turned around, only to meet the bright and clear gaze of a little girl. He was stunned, but Caroline quickly turned back. Nicholas wasn't sure if it was his illusion, so he looked around behind him. By the time he turned back, Caroline had already walked over to him. She
stood in front of him, but didn't say a
word for a long time.
She fiddled with her fingers with pursed lips, and her cheeks were a bright shade of red, as she stared at him with her puppy eyes. Looking at her reluctant gaze as if she wanted to say something, Nicholas couldn't help but to chuckle. "What's the matter? Do you need something from me?" he asked.
What matter was it, for it to be so difficult to speak about?
Caroline nodded her head. For some reason, she felt anxious whenever she looked at him, and couldn't help but to tug onto her hair.
"Erm... can I work as a waitress in your nightclub for a week?" she asked.
"What?" he exclaimed.
Nicholas was dumbfounded, and couldn't help sighing. "Haha, I have no time to play games with you!"
After speaking, he turned around and was about to leave. Caroline panicked, and grabbed his arm right away. "I'm being serious! I'm begging you, please let me work for a few days! I promise I won't cause any trouble, and I won't need the salary either..." Listening to her words, Nicholas got more certain that she was just a rich and bored little girl who was looking for entertainment.
He ignored her, and walked to the other side. Caroline ran after him and tried to catch up with him.
"Mr. Nick, Nicholas, please take pity
on me and help me for this once! I
can take orders and serve drinks! I'll try my best What about three days? Is three days okay? I just want to e gain some experience, as I've never experienced it before. I can't create a piece of art about the wonders of life without experiencing it! My art would be too hollow as I wouldn't be able to imagine it! I just want to experience it, and I want to see how people in the nightclubs are like...
Mr. Nick!" she said.
After running for a while, Nicholas stopped his steps, and Caroline almost ran headlong into his arms. She paused her footsteps, and tugged onto his shirt again.
"Please help me for this once, okay? I just want to try it for three days!" she said.
So, was she only doing it to experience life? Was this rich girl out of her mind?
Nicholas frowned, and peered at her.
He suggested, "Why don't you ask your brother or your cousin for help? They can get you into the East Bannpool or any other nightclub easily..."
As soon as he was done speaking, a tiny hand landed on his lips hurriedly. "Shhh... don't speak about this loudly! If my parents know about this, they'll chop my legs off!" Caroline glanced around alertly, then patted her chest out of relief. She wasn't aware of what she had just done, and just looked behind herself subconsciously.
She said, "Please don't tell my
brother and my cousin about this!
Please, please. There is a rule in the Clements family that the ladies aren't allowed in nightclubs until they're 28 years old. Besides, my mom hates nightclubs the most, so she forbids me from entering nightclubs for whatever reason! I'm not like Hallie, who has her mom to support her, so no one will be able to stop her even if she goes to a nightclub! My brother is
conservative too. It doesn't matter if he enjoys his time in the nightclub, but it's a crime if I do that..."
After ranting helplessly, Caroline tugged onto Nicholas' shirt unconsciously, and wiggled around coquettishly.
"You're the best, Nicholas. Don't you own many nightclubs? I'll just work there for a few days. Not only that you'll get extra help, no one will find out about it either. It's a win-win situation, isn't it?" she said cutely. After giving it a thought, she still believed that it was a good idea. Since she had made her decision, she had to do her best! If she didn't feel anything towards her own art, how was she going to move others with it? "Are you begging me?" Nicholas asked.
Caroline nodded profusely. The next second, Nicholas grabbed her waist suddenly and lowered his head, saying, "Then, do you know about the unspoken rules for girls who want to work in a nightclub?" Caroline was astonished, and her eyes were wide open. She couldn't breath, and shook her head instinctively.
Nicholas' warm breath was blown on her lips, and he said with a dangerous smirk, "A full three days and three nights of intensive training... by men!"
