Chapter 328 Avalanche
It was only then Bella realized she had been tricked. She gave up hope that he'd help her and stood up to walk out. "I'll call a cab on my own."
She had only taken a few steps when his hand immediately reached out to grab her wrist. With a harsh tug, she was caught off guard and fell into his embrace. Her first reaction was to struggle desperately. She looked like she had been greatly shocked.
Dominic was also shocked by her reaction. After getting over his initial shock, an unreadable emotion flashed across his eyes. "Are you afraid of me?"
Bella shook her head anxiously. Her hair tie had dropped to the ground during her struggle, and her long hair was let loose, conveniently concealing her unease. She was afraid of being near him, afraid that she wouldn't be able to help herself and fall for him all over again...
With each step he took toward her, she would take a step back.
When she reached the door and stretched her hand out toward the door handle, his hand clasped over hers, preventing her from opening the door.
Their bodies were practically pressed against each other, and his hot breath sprayed above her head. "Don't go," he said.
Bella's body trembled as she bit her lip to stop herself from talking. She knew what it would mean if she stayed, but her emotions were currently in a mess. She shouldn't have come... After a moment of silence, he forcefully pulled her hand down from the door handle and kissed her.
She tried to use all of her strength to break free, but she still failed to do so.
She also kept her mouth tightly closed as she refused to give in, but his kiss was so demanding and passionate that she couldn't hold on for long. Her defenses soon broke.
Their lips were pressed tightly against each other, slowly making her feel breathless. She also felt her rationality slipping away.
She had a small shred of rationality left once their passionate kiss had ended.
With tears in her eyes and a trembling voice, she asked, "Have you had enough? How long do you plan to keep on playing these games with me? Aren't you tired of playing the same game all the time?" Dominic tensed. "Do you really think that I'm just playing around?"
She said mockingly, "Am I wrong? Don't tell me that you've truly fallen for me just like how I used to love you."
The mood was gone, and all of his enthusiastic impulsions were immediately dampened. He looked at her coldly. "I saw that letter."
Bella looked at him in confusion.
He took a deep breath and said, "The letter my dad wrote for your mom."
Bella's eyes widened. She had always assumed that he had never opened that box. Didn't that mean that he had known a long time ago about his father's feelings for her mother?
The situation also proved a saying about how each inch of snow was responsible for an avalanche.
Both her mother and his father were responsible for his mother's departure and death abroad.
She couldn't understand why Dominic suddenly brought up that letter. His thoughts were too hard to guess, and she had gotten tired of trying to understand him. After a long while, he said, "Let's go. I'll send you home."
Seeing that he had given his approval, Bella immediately rushed down the stairs. She didn't even stop to play with Pudding when he ran toward her.
The car ride back was quiet as no one spoke.
It was obvious that Dominic was in a bad mood. He would either be calm or fly into a rage whenever he was in a bad mood. However, it was her first time seeing him act so quiet and depressed.
Bella was worried about the fact that he had drunk some alcohol before he drove. Once they arrived at the entrance of her neighborhood, she asked, "Do you want to come up and sit for a while?" en FindNovel
It was still early, and he hadn't drunk much, so a small rest would probably do the trick.
He turned to look at her with a teasing expression. "Are you sure?"
Bella's face immediately turned red. "It's up to you."
With that said, she got out of the car and entered the neighborhood.
She heard footsteps coming from behind her, so she knew he was following her.
