Echoes of a Forsaken Heart (Natalia and Hamilton)

Chapter 257

Natalia locked eyes with Hamilton, her lips silent but her eyes betraying a flicker of joy.

"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

Hamilton's voice was laced with reproach.

"Would you have picked up my calls?"

Natalia felt a twinge of guilt, "I've been swamped lately."

Her days had been a whirlwind of negotiations by day and meetings by night, leaving her drained by the time she could even think of returning calls.

"So, you're too busy for me but have time to laugh and dine with Ryan? Suddenly the schedule clears up when he's around?"

Natalia frowned, "We were discussing work."

Hamilton felt the sting of jealousy but didn't want to spoil the moment over Ryan.

He leaned in, kissing her passionately, even biting her lip slightly in his eagerness.

"Miss me?"

He sounded like a kid seeking affirmation.

Natalia's heart skipped, and she whispered, "Yes."

Hamilton was taken aback, then overwhelmed with desire. He pulled her closer, his kiss deepening as if to devour her. Natalia, lost in the moment, clung to him for stability.

As Hamilton's hands began to wander, boldly slipping under her dress to caress her, she trembled at his touch.

"Hamilton," she began, but he silenced her with another kiss, his hands exploring yet stopping just short of further intimacy as if teasing her, waiting for her to ask for more.

Trapped in his embrace, she tried to wriggle free but found herself even more tightly held.

Suddenly, the shower turned on, drenching them both as Hamilton removed her dress in one swift motion. His hands left marks on her skin, which he tenderly kissed, even biting gently as she pushed him away. Hamilton stood, pulling her close, his own clothes soaked, revealing his desire.

He guided her hand towards him, whispering suggestively.

Natalia, flustered, tried to pull away, but Hamilton persisted, undoing his belt with her hand.

"Used to touch me like this before," he teased, noticing her embarrassment.

Just as they were about to cross the final line, a knock at the door paused everything.

Natalia, snapping back to reality, pushed Hamilton away and wrapped herself in a towel, leaving the bathroom in a hurry.

Outside, Ryan waited, his presence a bitter reminder of the unresolved tension.

Natalia, now dressed, answered the door to find Ryan inviting her to a gathering at a nearby bar. She agreed, her phone on silent being the excuse for her unavailability.

Ryan, noticing a love bite on her neck, felt a pang of jealousy but left without a word.

Natalia, returning to the bathroom to confront Hamilton, found herself once again caught in his embrace. Despite her protests about attending the gathering, Hamilton's desires couldn't be swayed, his passion leaving marks of possession. After their intense encounter, Natalia felt drained, her mind racing with thoughts of the consequences. Her body, weakened by past traumas, seemed indifferent to the risks.

Emerging from the bathroom, she declared the need to make an appearance at the gathering, with Hamilton insisting on accompanying her.

Despite her frustrations, the playful banter and Hamilton's carefree attitude lightened her mood. Dressed and ready, she finally felt prepared to face the evening, her phone in hand, symbolizing a return to the outside world. Several missed calls and a barrage of messages had piled up on her phone.

Natalia didn't bother going through them one by one; she just glanced at the missed calls and went straight to her conversation with Scarlett.

Scarlett, seemingly riled up by something, had unleashed a torrent of rants against Hamilton.

Curiosity piqued, Natalia scrolled through the messages until one, in particular, made her fingers freeze.

It was a picture of Eveleen in Hamilton's embrace, captured with startling clarity. Even the tears glistening on Eveleen's cheeks were visible. Natalia's grip on her phone tightened subtly.

Hamilton, now fully dressed, came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her, causing Natalia to feel an unexpected wave of discomfort. She tried to shrug him off, but he held firm.

Leaning down, Hamilton planted a soft kiss near her ear.

"Forgot who I am once your pants are back on?" Natalia couldn't help but let the words slip out, despite the heaviness settling in her heart. She turned to face him, a question burning in her eyes. "Did you see Eveleen?"
