Chapter 1117
The Reyes and Falcone families are on their way!
Just as Kylie found herself locked out of Kruiz's lab, the chance to become the chief physician for both the Falcone and Reyes families felt like the perfect twist of fate! She had always dreamed of mingling with these prestigious families, but given her current standing, even catching a glimpse of them seemed far-fetched. And now, here they were, coming straight to the medical base!
It felt like the universe was aligning just for her!
Kylie was over the moon, completely forgetting about Flora. Honestly, how could Flora even begin to compare to the significance of the Reyes and Falcone families? If she managed to win over the Reyes and Falcone clans, her status...
Would soar to heights that Flora, with all her brown-nosing, could only dream of!
"Why are the Reyes and Falcone families suddenly coming to the base?" Kylie tried to steady herself, but her voice still quivered with excitement.
"I'm not sure," Mike shrugged. He'd only caught wind of it from the higher-ups. He didn't know why they were visiting, especially since it seemed Mrs. Falcone and Karter were coming in person. But he suspected it might have something to do with someone of note. "Anyway, get ready. With your skills, and a little bit of support from me, getting into the good graces of the Reyes and Falcone families shouldn't be an issue, but there's one catch."
Mike adjusted his glasses, looking seriously at Kylie, "Kylie, remember my words: steer clear of Flora, no matter what."
"Director, please, let's not bring her up," Kylie replied, a hint of irritation in her eyes. She had no time for Flora now. Just hearing "Flora" felt like a mood killer.
Her main focus was figuring out how to get the Reyes and Falcone families to take her on as a physician. That would truly secure her spot among the elite on Lone Island. Especially with the island's two most influential families! "Director, if there's nothing else, I'll be heading out."
Seeing her determination, Mike knew it was pointless to press further. He waved her off, "Alright, go ahead."
The next day.
Flora and the other newcomers were reporting to the square. Selene
seemed to be in a mood, not bothering to wait for Flora and heading out on her own. Flora found Selene's mood swings puzzling but didn't pay them much mind. Holding onto the breakfast sandwich Selene had left in the thermal box, she
munched on it as she walked to the square.
Arriving just in time, as usual.
Selene saw her and let out a huff, expressionless.
Flora was bewildered.
Luiz and the others were a bundle of nerves and excitement, completely oblivious to the tension between Selene and Flora. It was their first day of classes, and they were buzzing with anticipation.
"I heard the teaching methods here at the medical base are really one-of-a-kind. Didn't they say yesterday we'd be learning shooting and boxing, plus wilderness Survival skills? Think it'll be tough?"
They were passionate about medicine and hadn't really dabbled in these sorts of activities.
"I've only ever played with my nephew's toy water gun. I've never even touched a real gun, and I'm a bit nervous..."
"Shush, the instructor's coming!"
A man in military uniform approached with a commanding stride. His square face was stern and commanding, with a touch of fierceness. "Stand to attention!"
His voice was deep and gruff, prompting everyone to quickly line up, Flora included.
"I'm your shooting instructor, you can call me Ronald."
After introducing himself, his gaze swept over Flora and the others, his brows furrowing slightly.
These slender arms and legs. How are they going to train?
