Chapter 837
The room buzzed with whispers.
"Isn't that Debra Frazier? What's she doing here?"
"I heard she disappeared during her engagement party and ran off with Andrew Potter."
"Ugh, what bad luck running into her here!"
The upper echelon of society was a viper's nest, ready to strike at the first whiff of scandal.
Debra, with her tarnished reputation and fallen family, was a prime target. Her previous marriage to Juan and Marion's protection were the only reasons she was tolerated in their midst.
"Ms. Frazier, your reputation isn't looking too great," Drake scoffed, descending the staircase.
His voice sent a shiver down her spine, but Debra kept her composure.
The crowd parted as Drake approached, businessmen eagerly trying to catch his attention.
Kale blocked them, allowing Drake to reach Debra unimpeded.
Eyebrows raised and lips pursed in disapproval, the elite watched the scene unfold.
"Look at her, clinging to Mr. Lowe this time."
"Relying all on her looks, she thinks every man will revolve around her."
"Men always go for the pretty ones. But Mr. Lowe is engaged to Miss Eaton. They will not let her off the hook."
The gossip buzzed around her. Drake heard it all.
"Seems like none of them are rooting for you," he chuckled.
"When did you start caring about gossip, Mr. Lowe?" Debra remained unfazed, stepping closer to him. "Rumors and scandals don't bother me."
Drake smirked, "You're not here to beg me for forgiveness, are you?"
He had expected her to soon crawl back to him, but she had held up for so many days. He admired here resilience, but ultimately, she had to surrender.
He extended his hand, expecting her to take it, but she sidestepped him.
Smirking, she said, "Mr. Lowe, I'm afraid you've misunderstood."
"Misunderstood?" He scoffed. "Drop the act. You've already felt the effects of that drug. If you're not
here to apologize and pledge loyalty, why would you be looking for me?"

"I'm here because you invited me. That's the only reason I showed up," she replied calmly.
"I invited you," Drake muttered with amusement, turning to Kale. "Did you send her an invitation?"
Kale shook his head. He had
personally overseen the guest list and Debra was certainly not on it. He would never make such a stupid mistake as to have a disgraced socialite like her attending
Drake stepped forward. "Even if you're trying to save face, you don't need to lie about this."
"I did receive an invitation," Debra replied, holding up the embossed card. "But it seems like you're not happy to see me."
Drake snatched the card from her, his eyes scanning the logo and the receiver. This invitation was for Tracy.
