His destined mate

Chapter 23

Bianca's POV

The situation in the palace was obvious. The reports of dark magic and the growing problems among the villagers were enough to keep everyone on edge. But nothing could have prepared me for the shock that awaited me one morning. Ethan and I were in the throne room, looking into the latest updates on the dark magic investigation when a messenger rushed in, his face looking pale and his voice trembling. "Your Majesty, there has been a public accusation circulating all through the kingdom."

I exchanged a worried glance with Ethan. "What kind of accusation?" I asked.

The messenger gulped nervously. "People are saying that you, your highness is the cause of all the kingdom's troubles. They claim that if you hadn't arrived here and become his majestys consort, none of this would have been happening. They're calling you a bringer of misfortune and spreading rumors that you are somehow connected to Emily's dark magic."

My heart sank with bitterness as the words sank in. The very idea that I could be blamed for the kingdom's problems was terrifying. I looked at Ethan, my eyes wide with fear and confusion.

Ethan's face hardened, a storm of emotions spread across his face. "Who is spreading these baseless rumor?" he demanded, his voice very low and dangerous.

"The rumors are coming from multiple sources," the messenger replied. "There are whispers in the streets, and even some of the council members have been seen discussing it."

Ethan's expression darkened the more. "We need to address this immediately. These accusations are baseless and harmful. We cannot let them spoil our efforts."

As the messenger left to carry out Ethan's orders, I could see the anguish in his eyes. I reached out to him, my hand trembling. "Ethan, what do we do? How can I can I prove myself to this people? He took a deep breath, his gaze softening as he looked at me. "We'll deal with this together. The truth will come out, and we'll show the kingdom that these accusations are false. But right now, we need to focus on finding out who's behind these rumors and stopping them before they cause more damage."

Ethan's POV

The accusation against my own mate was a serious blow, not just to her but to our efforts to stabilize the kingdom. I knew I had to act very fasto to protect her and counter the false narrative that was spreading.

We called an emergency meeting with the council members to address the rumors. The council chamber was filled with tension as the members Otook their seats, their faces a mix of concern and skepticism.

"Thank you all for coming on such a short notice," I began withbwith a firm voice firm. "I'm sure you're all aware of the recent accusations against Bianca. It has come to my attention that there are baseless claims suggesting that she is responsible for the kingdom's. troubles."

Councilor Langley, a stern-faced man known for his political ambitions, spoke up. "Your Majesty, these are serious allegations. While we understand that you have faith in your mate, the fact remains that the kingdom's problems coincided with her arrival. The people are only concerned."

I felt a surge of anger at Langley's 6implication. "The problems we are facing are the result of a well-orchestrated campaign by Emily and her allies. Bianca is not responsible for the dark magic or the unrest. We have evidence pointing to Emily's involvement."

Councilor Reynolds, a more moderate voice in the council, raised a hand. "We need to be careful. The rumors are causing division among the people. If we don't address the concerns directly, it could damage our efforts." I nodded, trying my best to stay composed. "We are aware of the concerns and are actively investigating the source of these accusations. Our priority is to address the kingdom's issues and ensure that the truth 0 prevails."

The meeting got concluded with mixed reactions. Some council members were supportive, while others remained skeptical. As the councilors left, I felt the weight of the challenge ahead. The false accusations needed to be countered, and the kingdom's unity needed to be preserved.

Bianca's POV

The fallout9 from the council meeting was swift. News of the accusations continued to spread, and the tension among the palace staff and the people was very obvious. I felt the weight #of the rumors pressing down on me, making it difficult to focus on anything else.

That evening, Ethan and I walked through the palace gardens, seeking some comfort amidst the problems around us. The garden was peaceful, a stark contrast to the turmoil we faced. As we walked with hand together, I tried to find comfort in his presence.

"I feel like everything is falling apart," I said softly, and my voice trembling. "The accusations are tearing me apart, and I don't know how to #make it stop."

Ethan stopped and turned to face me, his eyes filled with determination. "Bianca, none of this is your fault. We all know the truth, and we'll make sure everyone else does too. I won't let these rumors break us."

He pulled me into a comforting embrace, his warmth and strength offering a brief respite from the chaos. As I rested my head against his chest, I could feel the steady beat of hi$ heart, a reminder of his unwavering support. "I'm scared," I admitted. "What if the people never believe us? What if they continue to see @me as a threat?"

Ethan cupped my face in his hands, his gaze intense. " don't worry, We'll prove them wrong. We'll show the kingdom that you're not to be blamed. We need to focus on the real threats and continue fighting for what's right. Together, we can overcome this."

His words were a balm to my frayed nerves. I knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but wiOh Ethan by my side, I felt a renewed sense of hope. We had faced di!fficult times before, and we would face this one together. Ethan's POV

The following days were a blow of activity as usual as we worked to address the false accusations and maintain the kingdom's stability. We intensified our efforts to find the source of the rumors and counteract the damage they were causing. Bianca and I spent long hours reviewing reports, meeting with advisors, and working on strategies to regain the people's trust. The challenges were mounting, but we remained resolute in our determination to protect the kingdom and each other.0

One evening, as we were preparing for another strategy meeting, a trusted guard arrived with urgent news. "Your Majesty, we've receivoed word of another disturbance. A group of villagers has been attacked near 9the forest where we found the dark magic ritual site."

My heart sank as I heard the news. The attacks were escalating, and it was clear that Emily's dark magic was having a more profound impact than8 we had anticipated. "We need to investigate immediately," I said, my voice filled with urgency. Bianca and I gathered a team of guards and set out for the forest. The at3mosphere was tense, and the sense of foreboding grew stronger with each step. As we arrived at the site of the attack, we found the villagers huddled together, their faces pale with fear.

"We need to ensure everyone is safe," I said, my voice calm but firm. "We'll get to the bottom of this."0

As we tended to the villagers and gathered information, I coul&dn't shake the feeling that we were running out of time. The dark magic and the false accusations were converging into a perfect storm o5f chaos and confusion.
