His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 479

Everyone was in a frenzy, searching high and low for her.

Casper wasn't slacking off either.

He meticulously combed through every corner of the room and finally concluded that she had left on her own.

Could it be that she had woken up?

The moment that thought took root in his mind, his heart began to race uncontrollably.

"Elle..."

"Elle, where are you?"

"Elle..."

"Elle, are you awake? Please come out?"

Other than the occasional vehicle, the gates of the Welton Estate were always tightly shut. There was no way she could have just walked out. But where could she be hiding?

The household staff had turned every storage room, garage, and closet upside down but hadn't found a trace of her.

Casper searched every bedroom, study, and both levels of the house several times, but she was nowhere to be found. Where on earth could she be?

She couldn't have just vanished into thin air.

She had to be hiding somewhere.

Back in his bedroom, he kicked the corner of the table in frustration.

Suddenly, he heard a noise coming from the wardrobe.

The furious man immediately calmed down, his steps becoming slow and light, filled with caution and anticipation.

Gently, he lifted his hand and flung open the wardrobe doors.

There she was, curled up inside.

She was tightly pressed against the wooden panel of the wardrobe, seemingly asleep, as tranquil and beautiful as she had been on her sickbed.

He was eager to call out her name, but as the words reached his lips, he feared disturbing her and swallowed them back.

He carefully lifted her out and gently placed her on the bed.

She truly had woken up.

Her awakening caught him off guard.

Watching her sleep, his heart pounded uncontrollably.

"You're finally awake," he whispered, his slender fingers gently brushing strands of hair behind her ear, planting a kiss on her delicate face. "I've been waiting for you to open your eyes and look at me."

Perhaps sensing his presence or simply having had enough rest, her thick, curled eyelashes fluttered slightly as she slowly opened her eyes... Their gazes met.

Reflected in her pupils was the sight of his eyes, reddened with excitement.

He offered a gentle, serene smile, "You're awake? Do you feel unwell anywhere?"

Eliza's gaze shifted slightly, looking at Casper with a hint of unfamiliarity.

That faint trace of estrangement sent a chill down Casper's spine.

"You... don't recognize me?" Please, not amnesia.

Eliza lowered her eyelashes, remaining silent.

He grasped her shoulders, seeking confirmation again, "Elle, do you. remember me? I'm Casper, the man you despise the most, the man you'd rather die than stay with. Have you forgotten?"

Eliza closed her eyes.

She didn't want to talk. She was so tired and just wanted a good rest.

"Elle, wake up, please. Doctor, nurse, come here right now..."

Casper was at a loss, visibly shaken and trembling.

Eliza lifted her eyelids again, a slight frown on her forehead, "Casper, can you be quiet for a moment? You're really loud." Casper was stunned.

What did she just call him?

Did she just say his name?

She hadn't lost her memory; she remembered him.

He felt like crying and laughing at the same time, a whirlwind of emotions playing across his face.

Eliza thought: ... Is he out of his mind?

Suddenly, he embraced her tightly,

unable to hold back his tears,

"You've finally awakened. You haven't forgotten me, you still remember me. I'm so happy, I never thought a miracle would happen to me I'm truly overjoyed, so

overjoyed..."

His strong frame pressed down on her slender body, making her feel as if she was about to be crushed by his weight.

Unable to bear it, she coughed lightly.
