Master of his heart (Max and Brielle)

Chapter 1081

After Isaac was set free, a sly grin flickered on his lips. "Sit down, join me," he said.

Alivia wasn't having it. She was about to leave and lock him inside. But in their tussle, Isaac managed to slip out first. Standing outside, he waved just as the Ferris wheel door clanged shut, trapping Alivia inside. "You!" she shouted, taking a deep breath. She thought Isaac had made a mistake and quickly tried to reason with him. "Hey, kiddo, I'm not into this. Let me out now, open the door."

The controls were outside, only Isaac could reach them. Ignoring her, he walked over to the Ferris wheel's control panel a short distance away. Seeing this, Alivia's face turned pale. What was this kid up to? "Have fun," Isaac said casually, pressing the start button.

The Ferris wheel creaked into motion. Alivia felt the cabin groan and screamed in terror. As it swayed mid-air, she clung to the side, tears streaming down her face. Isaac, standing beneath, stepped back a few paces to avoid any potential accidents, his little legs carrying him safely away. The Ferris wheel continued to sway and jerk.

Isaac, looking up for a while, soon found the spectacle rather dull, thinking petting his dog, Noir, would've been more entertaining.

Inside, Alivia was weeping uncontrollably, petrified by every creak and groan, dreading a fall. Through her tears, she peered down through the glass and saw Isaac about to walk away. In desperation, she pounded on the door, "Let me down! Let me out of here!" But at such a height, Isaac couldn't hear her cries.

When King arrived, his gaze

immediately landed on the spinning Ferris wheel. Tales of accidents at this amusement park were no secret, widely covered by the media, leading to several failed auctions. Business is business, after all, and nobody wants to invest in a place

shrouded in bad vibes.

A wave of panic surged through King's heart. Without a second thought for Brielle, he strode quickly towards the Ferris wheel. Brielle, still feeling under the weather and in pain, struggled to keep up as King hurried ahead, disappearing inside.

King's heart was in his throat, fearing the worst for Isaac, his eyes reddening with worry. Feeling almost as if he were walking on clouds, he cursed those supposed to watch over Isaac for allowing Alivia to succeed in her scheme. His chest heaved with anger, unable to utter a single word.

Brielle finally caught up, noticing his distress. "What's wrong?" she asked, still oblivious to Isaac and Alivia's situation. But King was visibly shaken, as if he'd lost something irreplaceable.

"Don't worry," she offered, trying to comfort him despite not knowing the full story hoping to calm him on account of Max's friendship. King's eyes, filled with sorrow, met hers causing Brielle to feel an unexpected pang in her heart. She knew the man before her was King, not Max, and she shouldn't feel this way. But the sadness in his eyes was about to overflow.

"Don't worry?" King's voice was raspy, his smile bitter. "Of course, you're not worried. You don't even want him alive."

He took a deep breath and continued forward. Brielle was puzzled and grabbed him. "What are you talking about? You're King now, not Max, right?"

Otherwise, why would he say things she couldn't comprehend?

Shrugging her hand off forcefully, King snapped. "Max! Max! That's all you ever think about, Max!"

The force of his push caught Brielle off guard. Already in pain, she lost her balance and fell to the ground. The place, long abandoned and filled with debris like stones, screws, and pieces of metal, was a dangerous landing spot. As she fell, her arm scraped against a piece of metal, cutting a several-centimeters-long gash into her skin.
