Chapter 152 My Real Name is Stellan Storm
Galatea took a bath first, then wrapped herself in a towel and walked out of the bathroom. Alaric had prepared hot cocoa for her. "Drink this."
Galatea obediently drank the hot cocoa, then pursed her lips tightly after finishing it, looking like she had done something wrong, and slowly sat down on the sofa.
Seeing Galatea like this, Alaric sighed helplessly, frowned, and said to her, "What am I supposed to do with you? You're not a three-year-old child anymore, making people worry like this." Alaric felt more worried about Galatea than he did for Caspian.
Galatea hung her head tightly, still saying. "I'm sorry."
Alaric squatted down in front of her, trying to find her gaze, and asked very gently. "What happened? Why did you suddenly go to the cemetery to see Brennan?"
As Alaric asked this, Galatea suddenly felt her nose tingling, looked up at him, and her eyes became moist.
"Yes, I suddenly missed Brennan, so I went there and stayed until evening, and my phone ran out of battery. I didn't mean to disappear."
Seeing Galatea about to cry, Alaric quickly hugged her, let her lean on his chest, and then gently patted her back, comforting her.
"I know, but next time, don't be so careless. I worry about you a lot."
Galatea now felt full of guilt, just leaning on Alaric's chest, feeling particularly secure at this moment.
They maintained this posture for a long time before Galatea slowly moved away from Alaric's embrace, then looked at him and asked. "Aren't you going to ask why I suddenly missed Brennan?"
To this, Alaric smiled indulgently and said, "A daughter missing her father doesn't need a reason. Even if there are reasons, if you don't want to say it, I won't ask."
This response made Galatea feel even more guilty. Alaric said he wanted to protect her and wanted her to be his wife, but she had been lying to him all along.
"Alaric."
"What?"
"In fact, my name is not Galatea. That's a name I changed later. My real name is Stellan Storm."
Galatea couldn't convince herself as easily as before to keep this from Alaric. After speaking, Galatea was nervous, blinking her eyes and waiting for his reaction.
Upon hearing this name, Alaric was stunned for a moment. Why did this name sound familiar to him?
Seeing Alaric's reaction, Galatea felt anxious. ;"I'm sorry, Alaric, I didn't mean to deceive you. I changed my name to start over."She quickly explained.
"I know." Alaric said calmly, "I had already guessed that Galatea wasn't your real name. It's okay. I can understand that you want to start a new life and not face the past. I just felt that the name Stellan Storm sounded familiar." But Alaric had always been in the military, and there was no connection between them before.
"My father's name is Brennan Storm." Galatea said.
Alaric was surprised. "You're Brennan Storm's daughter?"
"Yes, do you know my father?"
"No, I don't." Alaric shook his head. "I've always been in the military, so I know very little about business matters. But even with limited knowledge, I've heard of Brennan's name before. He used to be a well-known entrepreneur in the country." Previously, Galatea had mentioned that she was born into a wealthy family, but later, the family went bankrupt.
Alaric thought it was just an ordinary wealthy family, not realizing that she was Brennan's daughter. The Storm's Family from before was no less prestigious than the Knight family.
"No wonder your name sounded familiar, Stellan Storm, once hailed as the number one debutante in Arizona."
"It's all gossip, surprising that you know about that." Galatea didn't expect Alaric to know about this.
"I was in the military before, then got seriously injured and was in a coma for a while. When I woke up, I vaguely heard about the downfall of the Storm's Family. I wasn't interested at the time and didn't delve into it. What exactly happened? How could a top-tier family like the Storm's Family collapse overnight?" Alaric felt a sense of lament as he spoke.
"I don't know the specifics either." Recalling it, Galatea felt like she had been through a nightmare. "Before the incident, I was studying abroad. I was supposed to return home that month, but one day, Brennan called me and told me to stay abroad temporarily, not to come back to the country. He didn't give a reason, just told me to stay abroad and then hung up.
I felt uneasy at the time. Later, when I called Brennan, he didn't answer. I had a premonition that something had happened. I immediately flew back to the country. The Storm Family was running a food company, which was reported to have a serious overdose of additives in the food, causing deaths.
They also said the Storm Family was involved in tax evasion, and Brennan was accused of bribery, malicious competition, disrupting the normal market order, and economic crimes. In short, he was accused of many offenses all at once. The company was sealed off at the time, Brennan was under investigation, and I thought everything would be fine after the investigation.
But after more than twenty days of investigation, all the charges were proven true. I was thunderstruck. I knew Brennan would never do such things, but the investigators said the evidence was overwhelming, and he might end up in prison for a long time.
With the assets seized and suppliers demanding payment, plus the media portraying Brennan as a villain who deserved it, the public pressure was immense. I was really overwhelmed at that time. Brennan was in custody, waiting for trial. Later, they said Brennan could be released on bail. Finally, the bail procedures were completed, and he could temporarily leave the detention center, but..."
At this point, Galatea choked up, suppressing her emotions, she continued. "But during the bail period, Brennan committed suicide by jumping off a building."
Upon hearing this and seeing Galatea's state, Alaric's heart was also crushed, feeling a deep ache.
He quickly hugged Galatea again, unable to say anything, because any words at this moment would be inadequate.
Galatea was grateful that Alaric didn't say anything but provided her with a shoulder.
After calming down for a while, Galatea spoke firmly, "It's not because he's my father that I believe him. It's because I know him. He would never do those things, and as for my father's death, I don't believe he would leave me and commit suicide."
Galatea didn't know what Ambrose had in his hands, but Ambrose was right. Under those circumstances, Brennan would never leave her and commit suicide.
"Do you think the Storm's Family was framed, and there's more to Brennan's death?" Alaric asked.
Galatea nodded heavily, then looked straight at Alaric and asked, "Do you believe it?"
