I pushed past Maria and ran down the hall after Sabrina. I caught up to her just as she burst through Logan's door. She slammed it in my face when I got there and locked it behind me. I jiggled the handle hard, but no luck. I pounded on the door, but Sabrina just pulled the blinds shut.
I stepped to the side of the door and watched through the window as Sabrina pointed at me and gestured wildly. Logan listened, then nodded at her. She turned and gave me a smile that sent chills down my spine.
She opened the door and closed it behind her. "Logan agrees with me that you and Maria need to stay away from each other while you're at work."
"Because we were getting supplies at the same time?"
"Because it's preventing you from doing your job," she said coolly
"My job was to find you a desk, which I did," I pointed behind her. One of the maintenance staff was, rolling in a desk on a dolly.
Her jaw dropped when she saw it. She grew flustered. "Well I...I still don't like your attitude. Like it or n
am your superior, and you will treat me with respect."
Without a word I turned to the maintenance worker. "You can put the desk over here, on the other side of the office door." I turned back to Sabrina. "Does that suit her majesty?"
She narrowed her eyes at me. "That would be fine," she said through gritted teeth to the maintenance worker. "We will talk later," she hissed at me.
I turned and sat at my desk and unlocked my computer. After the desk was in place, the maintenance worker left without a word.
"Is there a chair coming?" She asked me.
"No one asked me to look for a chair," I said coolly.
She walked over to my desk and put her hands on the edge of it. She leaned in close to me. I continued to stare at my screen.
"If this is how you want to play it, I have no problem making your life here a living hell," she sneered. "Now go find me a chair, before I suggest to Logan that maybe you aren't fit for this position,
I turned to glare at her. I wasn't sure if she had that kind of pull with Logan, but I did not want to take any chances. "Fine." I said. Okay, maybe I would take some small chances.
I headed towards Peter's old office, which still sat empty since no one bothered to try and replace him yet. I passed by Elena on the way.
"Karma's a bitch, huh?" She said.
"You should know," I said without pausing. I walked into the office, grabbed the chair, and started back for Sabrina's new desk.
"You know," she said as I passed by the second time. I think I like this new girl."

"You should, you're both from the same Satanic DNA," I said.
I saw Elena flip me off out of the corner of my eye. I liked her a lot better when she acted like I didn't exist.
I pushed the chair to Sabrina, who was leaning on her new desk. "And some supplies?" She asked.
"You're welcome, and that is what I was trying to find for you before you interrupted me," I said, the 'you dumb bitch' implied.
"I don't need your commentary, I just need a 'yes ma'am"," she said.
I just turned and started walking away before I did something I really regretted. I seriously doubted Logan would be okay with the way she was treating me, I thought as I walked back to the supply closet.
I saw Maria start to stand and head towards me but I shook my head at her. I pulled out my phone to text her: "We can't hang out at work anymore, per the Duchess of Hell."
Maria sent several rolling eye emojis back to me.
"Yes," I typed and pushed send. I shoved my phone back into my pocket before Sabrina got me banned from that too.
I grabbed the bare minimum Sabrina would need from the supply closet and hurried back. I didn't want to
give her any more excuses to get onto me today.
When I returned, I noticed someone was standing at Sabrina's desk talking to her. I gasped.
"Elena," I muttered to myself.
The two of them were laughing and carrying on. My heart sank. The last thing I needed was for the two of
them to become friends.
They stopped when they saw me approaching. Elena whispered in Sabrina's ear and the two of them looked at me and burst out laughing. My cheeks burned.
Elena starting walked back to her desk. She looked me up and down as she passed me, a sneering half smile on her face. An image of me sticking my foot to the left of me just enough to trip her a little bit passed briefly through my mind. I shook it out before it tempted me too much.
Without a word I set the supplies on Sabrina's desk. I started to walk away when she said, "I'm sorry, does this look like it's enough to get me started?"
I looked at the pile of supplies. It was basically what I used on a daily basis. "Yeah, it does," I said, more snappy than I intended.
She stood, her eyes searing into mine. She pushed all the supplies off of her desk. "Pick them up, and try again.
I glared at her. I turned and stormed right into Logan's office.
"Hey! You are not allowed in there, you have to go through me!" Sabrina said in a panic, coming around
her desk.
I slammed the door shut behind me. Logan looked up, startled.
"Hazel!"

I made sure the door was locked so Sabrina wouldn't barge in. "Logan, what is this about? Why did you bring her in? She is..."
He stood and shook his head. "I'm sorry Hazel, but anything you have to say to me needs to go through Sabrina." He made his way to his door.. "But this is about Sabrina. She keeps..."
"Please, I need you to talk to her about it. She will bring it to me if need be," he unlocked the door and opened it, gesturing for me to exit.
"No, I don't think she will," I said. "Logan, I don't understand..."
I
He sighed and closed the door again. "Look. I have to do this. After everything that happened in the hospital, then in New York City...you were right to try and push me away. This is the way to keep us apart."
"This? This is the way?" I said, baffled. "You couldn't think of any other possible solutions?"
He just shrugged. "Please," he opened the door again and pointed through it.
I scoffed and shook my head at him. "You don't understand...”
"Sabrina," he called through the door. "1 think Hazel has something to discuss with you."
She came running around her desk again.
"Forget it," I muttered and slumped back over to my own desk. "Just...forget it.'
