Rebirth In Divorce: My New Mr. Perfect

Chapter 235

Chapter 235

Yasmine accepted the test, took out a red pen, and started correcting it carefully. Soon, she grabbed another test and placed it in front of Yonas, saying gently, "Answer my questions while you solve these problems, one question per problem." At the same time, she picked

up a timer.

Yonas didn't quite understand, but he nodded in confusion anyway.

Yasmine watched him as he focused sincerely on the questions. The test was just regular calculus problems, not very hard, but they needed care; any careless mistake would mess things up. She asked, "Did you have a girlfriend three years ago?" Yonas's pen shook slightly. He hadn't expected such a blunt question right off the bat. He thought for a moment and then replied, "Yes."

Yasmine watched as he finished the first problem and stopped the timer, noting the time.

As Yonas started on the second problem, Yasmine spoke again, "Tell me, was Irene your girlfriend?"

"No!" he answered decisively.

"Then do you know me?" she asked once more.

Yonas wrote down a line, "I'm done." He slowly set the pen down only after three questions he didn't want to continue.

Yasmine pressed the third timer record, not even glancing at the test answers. "Yonas, everything I wanted to know, I already do," Yasmine said with a gentle smile, though her eyes were serious. "What?" Yonas was surprised.

"Yonas, it's been three years since we met, right? Whenever you lie, it takes you forever to answer a question, but when you're telling the truth, you answer right away," Yasmine said with a smile.

Yonas sighed, knowing that Yasmine had been suspicious for a long time. "I'm leaving," he said, standing up. He didn't want to bring up the events from three years ago, so he decided to make a quick exit. Because of her pregnancy, Yvette can be released on bail without detention.

Yasmine was working in the consultation room. Just as Yonas left, Selena walked in. Their meeting was quite awkward, especially from Selena's side, who looked at Yasmine with an air of superiority, which was quite unsettling. "Yasmine, I bet you know why I'm here today," she said. Yasmine didn't even bother to stand up, remaining calmly seated. "Just get to the point," she replied.

Selena said, "When it comes down to it, you and Xavier were married for three whole years, yet you didn't give our family any children. That's part of why you weren't liked. But fortunately, you're divorced now and Yvette is pregnant."

Yasmine burst out laughing, staring at Selena with a mocking gaze. "Mrs. Flynn, I don't understand why you've suddenly come to tell me this. While we were married for three years, your son stayed chaste for Yvette. How is that my fault exactly?"

Selena's face was dark with displeasure. She wasn't clear about matters she hadn't touched for three years, but that wasn't what she came here for today. "Yasmine, you left with so much of the family's assets after divorcing my son. I won't dispute over those, but you have to agree to one condition. Spare Yvette and besides that, you can put forth

any other requests."

Yasmine sneered, "I have no demands except one: stay away from me and stop pestering me."

"Yasmine! Don't push it too far! You've already sent my daughter to a mental institution, and now you won't even let Yvette off. Do you want our family to be ruined?" Selena banged on the table in anger.

Yasmine gave a sideways glance at her hand, "I've never thought that way; that's a burden I can't bear. Mrs. Flynn, if you've come here just to say this, then you can leave now."

Selena pointed directly at Yasmine's nose and cursed, "You vile woman! You're doing this on purpose. You know full well Yvette is also a victim; it's all Irene's doing! Why not go after Irene? Are you just bullying the weak?!" Yasmine chuckled, "Don't you know that the evidence against Yvette was leaked by Irene? Isn't she the real culprit here? Mrs. Flynn, you're coming after me but not her-isn't it also because you're bullying the weak?"

"You!" Selena's face turned pale with anger. Yasmine didn't leave any evidence behind as she looked at Selena with an indifferent, distant gaze. "Please leave," she said. "You're not welcome here."

As Selena was leaving, she threw a parting shot, "We'll see!"

Inside the psychiatric hospital, Helen had just finished her breakfast. After being here for so many days, she had started to get used to it. She had lost hope when Selena repeatedly tried to get her to take the blame. She even began to dread visits, not wanting to hear any more cold words from those she once held dear. Yet, an hour later, Selena was back. Sitting in the room, she watched as the nurse brought Selena in.

"Helen, it's me," Selena said, her voice trembling as she approached Helen.

Helen backed away a few steps, fear visible in her eyes. She didn't want to look at Selena and coldly asked, "Are you here to convince me to take the blame again? I'm not agreeing to it. You can leave now!"

Selena's pupils contracted, but she approached Helen with determination, "Helen, do you really want to sever all ties with the Flynn residence?"

A wave of emotion hit Helen as she realized her mother could be so threatening. Her face paled with disappointment as she replied, "Everyone is asking me to take the blame-fine, I'll cut ties!"

Selena laughed self-mockingly. "Do you really think it's that easy? Once you cut ties with the Flynn family, do you think you can still stay in such a nice suite? Have you seen public hospital wards?" Helen turned away, saying, "You don't need to worry about it."

"You think I shouldn't worry? The clothes you wear, and the food you've eaten all came from the Flynn family. You've enjoyed everything the Flynn family has provided, so you should contribute in return. Besides, this is just a minor issue. In the end, that woman wasn't harmed, and the sentence won't be severe. Once you're out, no one will even remember this." Selena spoke animatedly, picturing the scene where Helen takes the blame, allowing Yvette to be released safely.

Helen let out a mocking laugh, "I remember, I remember everything! I remember you coming to me repeatedly, asking me to take the blame, and how you didn't show any concern even after I tried to hurt myself-Mom? I'm starting to wonder if you've changed, because you used to care about me the most."

now...

Her eyes turned red with grievance, each time she felt wronged, Selena was the one who comforted and protected her. But

she wiped her tears away, her voice turning icy once more, "I refuse. No matter how many times you ask, I'll refuse. After Yvette committed a crime, she wanted to frame me for it. I rejected it back then, so why would I admit to it now? Wouldn't that just be slapping myself in the face?"

Selena had probably anticipated her non-compliance long before. She showed no sign of panic, "If you refuse to confess, don't ever call me 'Mom' again."
