Chapter Reborn As The 105
Chapter 105
Gregory still felt a surge of anger and grabbed Carter by the collar, raising his fist as if he were about to land a punch.
Carter had just been kicked hard enough to cough up blood, feeling like his insides were on fire. Seeing Gregory's wrath hadn't subsided only made him angrier, and he spat another mouthful of blood. "Are you ever going to stop? Are you done going crazy tonight? Is it only when you're banned in the industry that you'll be happy?"
After all those years as his agent, a senior, and a friend, Gregory hesitated to bring his fist down. His eyes burned red as he slammed his fist against the floor, creating a thunderous bang. "I'm going to find him." Then, he stood up again, flung open the door, and was about to rush out.
Carter quickly grabbed Gregory, fighting through the pain in his chest, his brow furrowed in worry. "What's going on? Just tell me."
Gregory shoved Carter aside, looking terrifying, like a roaring beast. "Get lost!"
Carter suddenly realized something was off. Gregory had always been easygoing, never showing such outrageous rage, even when provoked. Panic gripped him tighter, and he squeezed Gregory's arm with all his strength. "Gregory, just tell me what happened." "He took my sect leader!" Gregory roared in a fit of rage, his voice deafening.
have Carter was taken aback. "Who? Who's your sect leader? Since when did you
a sect leader?"
Gregory rubbed his hair in frustration. "It's Eleanor... Look, it's complicated. You wouldn't understand. I have to go save her."
It suddenly dawned on Carter that he had indeed seen a girl in Stephen's arms at the time, but he had been too focused on rescuing Gregory to pay attention to who she was. If it was Eleanor, he wouldn't be too surprised.

Carter said, "Wait, how are you going to save her? Do you even know who Mr. Lloyd is? What his standing is at Cendelch? Even if he were holding a girl, if he stood in the middle of the street with a nuclear missile, who would dare say a word against him?" Gregory shot back angrily. "I can't just let Eleanor fall into his hands." He thought, 'In an industry as chaotic as ours, who knows what would happen between a man and a woman? If the sect leader is assaulted right under my nose, an S-level assassination order wouldn't matter, but what would I say to my comrades of Ghost Sect?'
Being older and more seasoned, Carter shook his head at Gregory's outburst, then spoke. "Not necessarily. You weren't on set today, but when I went to handle some crew work, I heard Mr Lloyd risk his life to save Eleanor from the water. For someone as high and mighty as he is, would he really have to jump into the water to save her?"
Gregory was confused. "What do you mean?" He thought, 'I know Eleanor fell into the water, but what does that have to do with who saved her?'
Carter didn't expect Gregory to grasp it immediately. He calmly analyzed. "What I mean is that their situation might not be as bad as we think.
"With Mr. Lloyd's status, he wouldn't need to personally save her but he did. That means Eleanor holds a special place in his heart. And just now, when he clearly had murderous intent towards you, the moment Eleanor moved, he snapped back to reality. That suggests they might already know each other well. If that's the case, then Eleanor must be safe."
Gregory was stunned by Carter's words, and uncertainty crept in as he asked, "Are you serious?"
Carter was certain. "Logically speaking, at least ninety-nine percent. And regardless of whether it's true or not, I can guarantee that if you go over there now, not only will you not see Mr. Lloyd, but you'll likely get half your life beaten out of you-literally. Think it over. If you decide to go, I won't stop you again."

Wiping the blood from his mouth, Carter felt a sharp pain in his chest as he pulled out his phone and walked away, clutching his chest.

Gregory slumped onto the sofa, engulfed by a sense of helplessness, and rubbed his face in frustration. After a moment, he pulled out his phone and prepared to dial a number. Just as he finished entering it, his phone suddenly rang.
Gregory paused for a moment, then quickly swiped to answer, "Hello, Ross?"
Ross seemed to be outside; the wind howled loudly in the background, making his voice somewhat unclear. "Yeah, it's me. Are you free right now? I need to talk to you."
Hearing Ross' tone, Gregory knew it was about Ghost Sect. "Yeah, it's just me here, and I actually have something to tell you,
too."
Ross knew Gregory too well. He could tell something was off just from his tone. "You go first."
Gregory opened his mouth. "It's just..." However, he found himself at a loss for words. The situation felt complicated, and he didn't know where to begin.
Gregory thought, 'Should I tell him the new sect leader has been changed again? Or that the new sect leader is filming with me? Or should I mention that the new sect leader has been kidnapped?' Nothing seemed to fit, especially since Eleanor had told him not to reveal her identity.
Gregory said, "Ugh, forget it. I don't even know how to explain this. You go ahead and say what you want."
Seeing Gregory hesitate, Ross didn't press him. "Alright, I wanted to let you know that a group of elite families in Aloria will host a gala in a couple of days. On the surface, it's a charity event, but it's a secret auction for a live specimen." Gregory didn't immediately grasp it. "A specimen?"
Ross' voice was cold. "Yes, this specimen is a living subject developed by a discredited laboratory in Mandorium. It's said to have been created through gene recombination, possessing the attacking power of a wild beast while looking like a real human-essentially, a top- notch weapon."
Gregory asked, "So, you're saying we need to secure it?"
Ross replied, "Yes, but this mission won't be easy. I've heard that people from the Nine Shadows will also attend, which means we might run into them again."
Gregory's expression soured at the mention of that syndicate, his brows knitting together in irritation. "Aren't they based in Nerovia? Why would they come all the way to Cendelch?"
Ross pressed his lips. "It could be for the specimen, or they might just be looking to stir up trouble for us."
The Nine Shadows and Ghost Sect had always been at odds. Their animosity ran deep, etched into their very bones. They fought on sight.
The Nine Shadows often undercut Ghost Sect's business, while Ghost Sect would intercept their shipments. In short, neither side would ever get a break.
