Revenge Of The Billionaire Girl

Chapter 104 Sophia and Drake Work Together

Sophia turned her head. "Go on looking at me if you have a death wish."

Drake smiled and didn't say anything.

It took a long time to go to the suburbs.

On the way, Drake said, "I'm a bit thirsty. Can you give me a bottle of mineral water?"

Sophia fetched a bottle of water and handed it to him.

Drake looked over, "I'm driving. How can I unscrew the lid?"

Sophia impatiently unscrew the lid and handed it to him. "Thanks!"

Drake still had a smile on his face.

Drake finished his drink and handed it to her, "Are you thirsty?"

"No!" Sophia didn't want to drink his water.

"Well, you can drink it anytime you want, I don't mind sharing saliva with you."

"But I do!"

'A nice counterattack!' Sophia thought proudly.

Drake shook his head helplessly.

But Drake has to admit that the prickly Sophia was more interesting than the silly Sophia before.

After another hour or so, the two finally reached the suburbs.

After getting out of the car, the residents here were making noises, so Sophia walked over quickly.

Drake followed. "Sophia, what are you doing?"

But Sophia just kept walking forward as if she didn't hear it.

"Sophia!" Drake shouted again.

One of the residents in the lead shouted loudly, "We refuse the demolition. We'll lose our home after the demolition! No demolition! No demolition!"

The people behind him also shouted, "No demolition! No demolition!"

The leaders of the neighborhood association could do nothing to do with them.

Sophia walked over, grabbed the loud speaker from the person in charge and said to the residents, "Hello everyone, I am Sophia, the president of the Skylane Group, and I am here today to solve your problems." The leaders of this neighborhood association were particularly excited to hear that.

They quickly reached out and were about to shake hands with her, but they were intimidated by Drake who came from behind and withdrew their hands.

They were taken aback for a moment, not knowing what was going on, but Drake took the initiative to introduce himself to ease the tensions.

The president of the neighborhood association, Morgan, said in a hurry, "Thank you so much for coming. They have been making trouble these days, and we don't know what to do."

Sophia smiled. "It's okay. Leave this to us!"

"Thanks!"

The government sent people to solve the problem, which was the best news for them.

However, in the next second, a person stood up with a knife and said, "If you want to demolish the houses, we will kill ourselves here. We are not afraid to make a big deal out of it, but you should be afraid!" Sophia was just about to walk over when Drake pulled her back. "Don't go. It's dangerous!"

Sophia glanced at him, didn't say much, just shook his hand off and walked forward. Drake frowned, but followed.

The other party didn't seem to expect that Sophia would come over. Holding a knife with his trembling hand, he said, "You, you don't come here, otherwise, I'm not sure what I might do."

Sophia calmly said, "Sir, you don't have to push yourself that hard. I know you don't want to have the houses demolished because you are used to living here. If you move to a strange neighborhood where you don't know the neighbors, you will feel very uncomfortable. That kind of life is not what you want at all. Am I right?"

Sophia's words touched many people. They glanced at one another, and then nodded one by one.

Sophia continued, "If it were me, I would think the same way. In your opinion, we businessmen demolish you houses for profit. I admit that we will profit from it, otherwise, we wouldn't have gone through all efforts."

"But you have to think about it carefully. Nowadays, not only our city, but also other cities, there are traffic jams. It takes some people an hour or even to two hours to get to the workplace."

"Plus the time to go home, the commuting time is about three to four hours a day. After they go home after work and do some minor things, it'll be very late for them to go to bed, which will lead to bad sleep and poor work efficiency." The man with the knife suddenly cut her off and shouted, "What does any of these have to do with us? We're not troubled by these problems."

Sophia nodded. "Yes, you're right. You're not troubled by these problems. But don't you want to change your current life? Don't your children want to?"

"Your children will work downtown sooner or later. Don't you feel sorry for them if they have such a long commuting time?"

"Of course, you can say that it won't happen and that you can stop your children from living a tiring life in the city. But do you think you can control them?"

Sophia's words made many people fall into silence.

Sophia gave Drake a wink, who nodded.

But she pretended that nothing had happened and said again, "The places we have arranged for you are all close to the city, if once the overpass is all completed, the pace of society will be faster and it will be more convenient for us to travel. Aren't these what we want to see?"

"If you guys feel unfamiliar with the surroundings, this doesn't matter. We will try our best to arrange for you to live in the same neighborhood. What do you think?"

While everyone was thinking, Drake suddenly rushed over and snatched the knife from the man.

During that process, Sophia was nervous. She was afraid that if she angered the man, the man would not know do something terrible.

When the man's knife was taken away, he was stunned for a moment, but finally accepted the reality.

As for Drake, after he took off the knife, he turned his head and looked at her proudly, as if he was taking credit.

Sophia just turned her head away as if she didn't see it.

But Drake clearly saw something in her eyes.

Sophia cleared her throat and continued, "I am here to make a solemn promise to everyone that we will try to meet all your requests. We will stay here for a while. If you have any requests, just come and mention them to me. I will record them one by one and then help you arrange them."

Humans are soft-hearted creatures.

Sophia had said so much sincerely. If they still made trouble, they would feel guilty.

"Well, we'll go to the office of the neighborhood association and wait for you."

Sophia's smile was contagious. Then she turned around and went to Morgan.

Morgan said with excitement, "Ms. Lawson, luckily, you've come! We wouldn't know what to do but for you!"
