Rewriting My Heart's Fate (Ethan and Evelyn)

Chapter 324

Chapter 324

Natasha's eyes shone with unwavering determination, like an insurmountable chasm.

I turned to face her, searching her gaze for even the slightest hint of doubt. All I found was a deep-seated obsession and resolve.

"Love isn't about possession or coercion," I said softly.

Sometimes, the more tightly a person held on to something, the more they risked losing it. Love required balance; it was not unconditional, and in the adult world, everything came with a price tag.

"You don't need to be wary of me, nor should you waste your time. Focus on malding the most of your own time. After all, we're not on the same path, and there's no competition between us. I had already wasted enough time and needed to get back to my design work

"There's something I need to clarify: if you're seeking personal matters, please don't involve me. My time is valuable, and I won't waste it on such issues."

Herhand trembled slightly, clearly taken aback by my direct rejection. The light in her eyes dimmed as if overshadowed by a cloud. She released her grip, allowing me to leave.

As I tumed away, 1 heard her quiet sobs behind me. I didn't look back. I understood that some paths are meant to be walked alone.

Once back in my dorm, I immersed myself in my design work, attempting to channel my restlessness into productivity. Yet, Natasha's words echoed in my mind, preventing me from dinding peace. "Would you trily disregard everything for love?" I murmured to myself, filled with uncertainty.

Love held different meanings for everyone. Some were willing to sacrifice everything for it, while others chose to keep their feelings hidden, quietly cherishing them. So what was I to choose?

"Why do you look so distracted? Did something happen, or are you just thinking about some guy?" Gabrielle suddenly appeared beside me, startling me "Are you hiding a crush from me? I'm dying to know! After all, we're pretty close." Herexcitement made me feel awkward, I didn't know how to respond and wanted nothing more than to escape the conversation.

Just then, my phone buzzed with a message from Ethan. He asked if I was free that evening and

I suggested w

Iwe go for a walk

Staring at my phone, I gripped it tightly, unsure of what to decide. If we went together, it would surely lead to misunderstandings. But if I didn't go, it felt like I'd miss an important opportunity to clarify things.
