Shattered Vows Shining Comeback

Chapter 48

Chapter 48 I Have a Black Card

“How could a necidace cost this much? This is daylight robbery!”

Sarah, who usually kept up a refined demeanor, instantly revealed her stingy and petty nature when things went against her. Her sharp tone immediately caused the staff to frown.

The account manager stepped forward and explained, “Mrs. Hall, this is a custom piece from Vere Jewels, created in collaboration with our brand. The canary diamond was once worn by the Queen of Eldland. In fact, the price is relatively low for such a piece.”

“I don’t believe you. You’re just trying to scam people like us. Do you think it’s that easy to take advantage of the rich? “Sarah snapped as she pointed an accusing finger at the account manager.

The account manager had dealt with difficult customers before, but Sarah’s bluntness was something else. His face flushed with embarrassment.

“Why are you harassing them?” Gwen said coldly with a raised eyebrow. “You said I could pick anything I want. Why are you hesitating? Go ahead and pay up,

Gwen gestured toward the group of wealthy women upstairs. The group leaned against the railing, eager to watch the scene unfold. “Everyone in Bellmont’s elite circle heard what you said. You can’t back out now.”

Sarah glanced up and was met with the mocking expressions of those women.

It

her feel even more humiliated. What was supposed to restore her pride had only made her look worse. With the account manager’s assistance, Gwen calmly put on the necklace. The canary diamond sparkled brilliantly under the store’s lighting. The necklace complemented Gwen’s elegance perfectly.

“Babe, your taste is impeccable, as always,” Yara praised Gwen loudly and rolled her eyes at Sarah. “Why aren’t you keeping up the act? Weren’t you boasting about your wealth? Can you even afford it?” she added.

“Forget it, there’s no need to trouble a housewife like Mrs. Hall. She’s nothing but talk. Don’t mind her,” Gwen replied with a slight smile as she pulled out a black card from her purse.

She handed the card to the account manager and said, “Charge it to this.”

A sharp–eyed woman upstairs immediately gasped, “No way! Is that the legendary black card?”

“It’s the limitless black card that can be used worldwide!” another woman exclaimed.

“I heard there are only three people in the world with this card. She’s insanely wealthy!”

Sarah stood frozen, at a loss for words.

Gwen actually had a limitless black card.

Compared to that, Sarah’s credit card with a few million dollar limit felt like a joke.

After the card was processed, the account manager respectfully handed the necklace back to Gwen. “Ms. Lawson, would you like us to arrange for security to escort the necklace?” he asked.

“It’s fine. It’s not worth much,” Gwen replied nonchalantly.

The crowd was left even more stunned by those words. To Gwen, an 18–million–dollar necklace wasn’t worth much?

Gwen let out a soft chuckle, then walked out with Yara. Sarah was left behind, completely dumbfounded.

Once they were in the car, Yara couldn’t hide her excitement. “Babe, you should keep using money to crush them! I love watching their jaws drop!” she said, holding onto Gwen’s arm excitedly.

Gwen chuckled. “Alright, I’ll listen to you.”

“Oh, by the way, any updates on the tickets for the equestrian club I asked for?” Gwen asked.

How could I forget? When your best friend’s on the job, it’s bound to be a success.” Yara winked at Gwen and took out the tickets from her bag. “Go get a slice of Jake’s fortune and let him cry into his pillow.”

Gwen’s eyes gleamed with confidence. “Mission accepted.”

Two days later, on the day of the interview, Jake was deep in conversation with Ashton about the project development. When he glanced up absent–mindedly, he spotted a striking figure in the distance. The figure was riding on the hillside. It was Gwen. She rode effortlessly with confidence on a Dutch Warmblood horse with a whip in hand. She quickly closed the distance between them.

The horse’s hooves stopped just inches from Jake’s face, but he remained unfazed. His gaze was fixed solely on Gwen, who was energetic and graceful atop the horse.

Gwen skillfully commanded the horse, and the horse knelt down obediently. She got off the horse gracefully.

She was dressed in a perfectly tailored riding outfit with her black hair tied in a neat ponytail. She radiated youthful energy as she approached Ashton.

“Mr. Duncan, we meet again,” she greeted charmingly with a soft smile.
