Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 603

If resistance was the plan, Andre knew it could easily backfire. But if it was simply a distaste for the corporate world, he had the patience to gently guide his nephew. Mia listened to her husband without immediately responding.

Suddenly, Leo and Anya barged back into Andre's office, wordlessly snatching the baby from Mia's arms. "No need to thank us, we'll take care of the little one for you." With that, they left with the baby in tow.

Watching Leo's retreating figure, Mia mused, "It's hard to pin down what Leo's thinking. Let's give it some more time. He might be reliable, but he's still immature in his actions." Andre nodded in agreement. This wasn't something they could rush.

Leo, carrying the baby, ventured down to the outdoor patio to enjoy the view.

Anya clung to Leo, eager to hold the baby. "Chad, let me hold him for a bit."

Leo, cradling his milk-scented little brother, countered, "You won't be able to handle his weight. Just play with him, that's enough."

The garden's jonquils were on the brink of blooming, with a few already showing their colors.

Leo, familiar with every corner of the company, casually took the boss's baby out during work hours to admire the flowers in the garden, enjoying a tranquil moment.

The baby curiously turned his head, taking in the blossoming flowers and the large fountain spraying water.

Passing employees cast curious glances their way, all aware that the only baby who would be in the company had to be the CEO's little treasure.

Indeed, Andre was the only one bold enough to bring his child to work, even earning the nickname of part-time dad around the office.

"Ah, ah ah ah," the baby voiced his happiness in the few words he knew.

Anya's heart melted at the sight, hugging Leo's arm and playfully whining, "Chad, please, let me hold the baby. I can do it."

As she reached for the baby, the sweet scent of milk wafted towards her.

Seeing Anya's pleading eyes and her soft tone, Leo's heart softened.

He shifted the baby into Anya's arms.

Anya, thrilled, hugged the baby and twirled around, ignoring the scenery to focus solely on the child.

As the end of the workday approached, more employees started passing through the garden.

People turned their heads, curious to catch a glimpse of the big boss's little one.

When Andre came to pick up his son, he and Mia heard the baby crying before they even reached the garden.

Rushing over, they found their son crying on a park bench.

Andre scooped up his son, asking, "What's with the tears? You're always crying about something."

Anya pouted apologetically, explaining, "I was making funny faces to entertain him, and he was laughing."

Mia wiped the baby's face with a tissue and asked, "Then what happened?" If he was laughing, why was he crying now?

Anya glanced at a sheepish Leo, explaining on his behalf, "Well, Chad tried to make him laugh with funny faces too, but... the baby ended up getting scared and cried."

Andre looked at his nephew, who awkwardly admitted, "Uncle, I thought a kid of yours and Mia's would be fearless."

Mia, reflecting on her long friendship with Leo, remarked, "Even if our son inherits our bravery, he's still a baby."

Andre had hoped Leo was maturing, but this incident showed he still had a long way to go.

Back in his father's safe arms, the baby finally calmed down.

Leo later learned about the missed opportunity to take over Alice's old job, not feeling guilty about making the baby cry again but rather satisfied with having amused himself. Due to Leo's antics causing disturbances at work, Andre confiscated all of Leo's car keys, leaving him only with his least favorite sedan and had it painted bubblegum pink! Leo, a car enthusiast, couldn't hide his frustration, "Damn, that's heartless."

Anya, too embarrassed to be seen in such a car, opted to take a taxi to school instead.

Leo, adhering to a "gentleman's" principle, insisted on taking a taxi with Anya to ensure her safety, despite her teasing him for being overprotective.

Leo responded to Anya's inquiries with a mix of irritation and affection, ensuring she knew she held a special place in his heart.

After dropping Anya off at university, Leo directed the taxi driver to Cedillo Inc., ready to face another day.

When Leo got to the office, he made a beeline for Andre's office. Peering inside, he noticed it was just Andre today, no sign of anyone else. "Where's Henry?" was the first thing Leo asked, his curiosity piqued.
