Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage

Chapter Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 80

Chapter 80 Mr. Locke Gets a Bit Jealous

“It’s fresh from the oven. It’s said to be tonight’s signature dessert, a masterpiece from a Citalian pastry chef,” Adrian said softly, gently pulling Germaine back from her thoughts.

Germaine felt like a puppet stripped of her thoughts and was just robotically receiving instructions. As she snapped back to reality, she reached out to accept the cake and silver fork, completely forgetting to say thank you.

Normally, she would feel touched by such attention from Adrian. But for Adrian, his purpose was already. fulfilled, so he turned and walked away.

Watching his retreating figure, Germaine felt as though she could hear the sound of her own heart breaking. Which lucky woman married him?

Ironically, Farrah wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. In a gathering like this, wearing it would reveal her identity as Mrs. Locke. Even if her designs in the Enduring Moments line were outstanding, people would still say she relied on a man to succeed.

She didn’t want to hear any gossip! She wanted to prove her abilities through her talent.

“Farrah,” Corey said, approaching her with a delicate piece of cake and a smile as he offered her the fork. Try this, will you? It’s called Fairytale, which sounds like your name.”

“Fairytale?” she replied, slightly surprised. “That’s a nice name.”

“It tastes great too.” Corey loved seeing her beautiful eyes light up with a smile. Being close to her always brought him comfort.

“Thank you.” Farrah took the fork, knowing the pastry chef was quite skilled. Tasting it might inspire her to recreate it and even innovate.

She took a small bite in front of Corey. “Mmm, it’s good, but I can make something even tastier! I’ll make it for you another day.”

Her carefree nature made her blurt it out in excitement. To Corey, it sounded like delightful news, and his smile widened. “Great!” His eyes still sparkled with interest.

Farrah immediately realized how inappropriate that was. She was married!

So, she quickly added, “Let’s just say it’s my way of thanking you for saving me the other day at the barbershop.”

With that clarification, although Corey’s smile didn’t fade

there was a hint of disappointment behind it.

Just then, Adrian appeared beside Farrah. She turned slightly and caught sight of him, her heart racing at the thought that he might blame her for not keeping a distance and take it out on Corey. After all, he had even dismissed Jordan.

Farrah glanced at him as she held her cake. Wanting to avoid any issues, she turned to leave.

Corey watched her retreating figure, while Adrian’s gaze toward him grew colder.

Somewhere along the way, Adrian’s possessiveness had intensified.

Corey snapped back to reality and met Adrian’s gaze. Mr. Adrian, Mr. Jordan caused trouble for Farrah yesterday.”

At that news, Adrian paused, his expression hardening as he asked, “What exactly happened?” Corey recounted everything he had witnessed. After hearing it, Adrian’s expression darkened with

tension. “I see.”

Corey was unsure of what Adrian intended to do, but he had a feeling Jordan was playing with fire. He couldn’t help but wonder what kind of relationship Adrian had with Farrah.

After the banquet ended, Mark offered to send Farrah home, but she firmly declined. Smiling, she started making excuses as she did not want him to discover her true identity as Mrs. Locke.

In the Lamborghini heading back to Floral Spring Residences, Adrian pondered for a long moment before finally calling Farrah. “How are you planning to get back?

“I can’t get a cab. I’m walking out to the main road,” Farrah said. She was alone right now. “Maybe it’s easier to hail one outside.”

“Wait where there are plenty of people. I’ll send someone to pick you up.” Adrian hung up after saying that.
