Chapter 34.
Angel POV.
The party is in full swing. Rebel looks adorable in her pink, full ballroom skirt princess dress. Her hair is in curls down her back. A silver plastic bejewelled tiara on her head and no princess outfit is complete without sparkly glitter shoes.
The club girls volunteered to be Disney Princesses for the day and they are doing a great job. The icing on the cake was seeing Ryder dressed as a prince, wearing a white cut. He was currently dancing with our lil princess.
To see him and how he is with her is just beautiful. Hell, no matter what he is doing, he makes time for her. Outside, we have white ponies complete with unicorn horns, picnic tables lined up with white and pink tablecloths. We even have stalls for the kids and adults to play games, bouncy houses, and lots of food and drinks. Even the trees have fairy lights wrapped around the trunk and branches. It is a fairytale princess party.
Even I'm doing my part. Blaze spent the last two days getting the pool prepared. Yes, I was shocked as well; the club has its own pool. Apparently, Ryder likes to swim. So they had one put in. It's covered at the back of the clubhouse, in a separate building. They even have a gym and sauna.
So here I am, being put into a mermaid tail and bra set. Coral has done my hair and I have a seashell crown on my head with pearl beading and gold shells.
"I am never doing this again." I grumble as I shimmy the waistband higher. The fin weighs a damn tonne. The things I do for my little princess.
"Ok, you ready?" She asks, and I roll my eyes.
"Where is she?" I look up and see my uncle Marco standing there fighting a laugh.
"Come on Ariel. Let's get you in that pool. You sure you won't drown?" I would stand up and hit him, but I would fall flat on my face. He chuckles, asshole!
"Oh, I may just become a siren and feast on your flesh and use your bones as toothpicks." I say to him and he stops laughing at me as I grin evilly at him and bite my teeth together.
"Ha, ha, very funny. Now come on." He moves closer to me and scoops me up.
"Jesus Christ, how heavy is that tail?" he asks straining, and I laugh.
"You should try swimming in it. Now come on, let's hustle." I say and he walks out the back of the clubhouse with me towards the building where the pool is. He places me down and I see members with their phones out, filming as I shuffle to the edge of the pool. Marco takes my hands and helps me enter the water, and I shriek as I glare at Blaze.
"You trying to kill me? It's fucking freezing!" I say and he just shrugs.
"It will heat up." he says when Coral stifles a laugh.
"Ok. Move back." I say as I move my legs together and get the feel of the tail and I move around. I dive down and swim. This is hard work, but it will be worth it. I breach the surface.
"Ok, you ready!" Coral shouts from
the other side of the pool and I nod my head. I swim under again. My arms are out in front of me and
straight as I move, I breach the net
surface near her and nod my head at her. This is not the first time¶ve done this. At home I have a tail and was going to this for her Birthday, anyway.
"REBEL, REBEL. COME QUICK THERE IS A MERMAID IN THE POOL!" I chuckle as the bubble machine is switched on. Bubbles floating in the air. I rest my arms against the ledge of the pool. Swishing my legs causing the tail to move lazily in the water. I hear a shriek as she runs towards the pool, pulling Ryder with her.
His eyes go wide, seeing me in the water. Rebel claps excitedly.
"Mommy, mommy you Ariel." She shouts excitedly and I smile at her. I push off the ledge and swim closer to her.
"No sweetie, I'm better than Ariel." I say to her as I turn and dive. Pushing the tail out of the water as I swim the length of the pool. I breach the surface to see Rebel sitting on the ledge watching me. I pull myself up and kiss her on her cheek and she giggles when Ryder leans down and I kiss him, too.
"So, I heard it's a little princesses third birthday?" I shout and everyone shouts 'Rebel' and pointing at her. She is smiling so big.
"Well, it looks like I have to bow to the little princess. Rebel, the princess of princesses." I bow my head.
After some time, I am helped out of the pool and carried back into the clubhouse to dry off and get changed. It is time to cut the cake.
We all sing Happy Birthday to Rebel and the kids are becoming tired and so are the adults. Everyone had their roles to play today, and they all did a fantastic job.
Rebel crashed, hugging her new teddy bear. Her room is full of all her new toys and clothes. She has been spoilt rotten today. The adults are all in the main clubhouse. I chuckle as I look around and everyone is exhausted.
The club girls included. I thanked
elf
them for making today special and they said it was nothing. They liked to help to make Rebel's day special They are judged unfairly because of the work they do. But I bet the members would be shocked if they got to know them. They are are doing this to put themselves through school, or to help their families. I have a newfound respect for them and I will protect them as they are part of this family.
I yawn as I fight to keep my eyes open. Ryder lifts me like I weigh nothing and wishes everyone goodnight and carries me to our room. Today was fun and I know have to tell him everything and will, just not tonight. Tomorrow, the lockdown is being lifted and life will resume. Much to Ryders chagrin. We can't stay hidden.
We need to go out into the world and let life resume. Ok, fair enough, a target has been painted on my back. And I will flaunt it as best as I can. I need to draw them out, and being behind the gates isn't going to do that. Ryder will be pissed, but it needs doing.
