Chapter 120 –
Ivy paused, drew her hand back, and rolled her eyes at Wyatt.
"Hah! Mysterious guest? I wouldn't have given Vince that hundred million if I hadn't known Reed Corporation was investing in this program."
What a waste!
Wyatt raised his eyebrows and spoke softly as if he was whispering to her.
"Then I'll have him give it back to you."
'Who cares about your stupid money!' Ivy pondered.
Wyatt coughed slightly as he noticed she was ignoring him.
"The program team is in charge of all of this. You are not going to be a killjoy simply because of our relationship, are you?"
Ivy gave him a disinterested look. "Sorry, Mr. Reed, you can't influence me anymore," she said, hooking her lips. "Don't be too arrogant to approach me, and don't interfere with my ability to make money to support young hunks!" Wyatt's brow furrowed slightly. He stopped speaking to her because the corners of his lips twitched. Even if her words enraged him, he had no choice but to put up with them because he was the one who asked in the first place. Everyone listened as the director explained the game's rules, which were much safer than in the first episode.
The first game involved locating the treasure map. The treasure map was discovered in a decommissioned factory. Ivy assumed they chose this location to save money on rent.
Wyatt was obviously dissatisfied, but it could not be changed because this location had been chosen long ago.
The factory had been cleaned, but it was still dark and eerie. The grayish-white walls appeared to be in disrepair. Tables and chairs were strewn about, and the wind blew some old curtains up. It seemed to be a haunted house. In this factory, there were three floors.
Each team was assigned to one floor and had to stick together when they switched floors later.
Vince and Flint opted for the first floor. Ivy and Wyatt opted for the second floor. Brad and Mirasol opted for the third floor.
Ivy and Wyatt walked behind Mirasol and Brad as they went upstairs.
The surroundings were quite frightening, with some dark and humid areas where the sun couldn't reach, resulting in some shadowed areas.
Mirasol shivered and trailed Brad. She appeared terrified, frail, and pitiful. "It's terrifying! Ivy, aren't you scared?"
Mirasol would appear arrogant if she were the only one who seemed to be terrified. As a result, she desired to hear Ivy's thoughts.
Ivy pressed her lips together. "What do you have to be afraid of? The program team has cleaned up this place, and there are cameras everywhere."
Mirasol paused in her movements and bit her lower lip reluctantly.
"It's a little like filming a horror movie. Since I was a child, I've been terrified of ghosts. Why are you so composed? Do you believe in God?"
Ivy raised her brows and spoke in a flat, clear voice. "My father introduced me to enlightenment ideas when I was young, and I minored in Marxism during my doctorate. I'm not a believer in ghosts or Gods." This sentence was the dividing line between the two women.
Mirasol's pursed lips and refusal to speak to Ivy were simply self-abused! Her irrelevant fears were a farce in comparison to Ivy's theories.
Brad was unconcerned about Mirasol and went off to find the treasure map.
Wyatt's eyes were gentle as he looked at Ivy. He was content with whatever came out of her mouth. Ivy jumped up a few steps when they reached the second floor.
Wyatt was about to follow when he noticed the figure swaying back and landing on him in front of him.
Mirasol slipped and fell to the ground. "Help!"
Wyatt smirked. Mirasol would have tumbled down the stairs if he had not dodged.
Wyatt didn't think twice about kicking Mirasol in the back to save her life.
Mirasol went from nearly falling down the stairs on her back to lying face-first on the ground in agony. That pitiful scream drew everyone's attention once more. Mirasol expected Wyatt to come to her aid and wanted to increase her chances of making contact with him. As a result, she only received a kick in the back.
Needless to say, her tiny cocktail gown was ruined.
When Ivy and Brad heard her scream, they rushed over.
Ivy was taken aback and rushed over to assist her. "Are you all right?"
Vince had been listening to Ivy's atheistic response and had seen everything from downstairs.
At this point, he couldn't help but laugh.
"It's such a wide staircase, Mirasol, but you just had to fall on my uncle, huh?"
Mirasol had a hideous expression on his face. When Vince revealed her thoughts, she felt so betrayed and ashamed.
"I... I tripped and fell because I stepped on my dress by accident!"
Vince exaggerated his tone. "Oh..."
No one took her seriously.
Ivy was speechless, but she just wanted to finish the task quickly and get out of here. She proposed.
"Would you like to change your clothing?"
Mirasol nodded and stood up quickly.
Brad spoke with caution. "You didn't sprain your ankle and expected me to carry you, right? I recently twisted my back."
Mirasol's face turned bright red. Brad was simply mocking her for acting in the previous episode. She looked at Wyatt, who didn't seem to notice her. He appeared to be aware that she had purposefully fallen on him. Mirasol was embarrassed by the look of disgust in his eyes. After all her hard work and effort, she was just a clown.
Who would have guessed that Wyatt would choose to kick her upstairs instead of catching her from behind?
Mirasol licked her bottom lip. Her cheeks were flushed as she forced a smile.
"There were no injuries. My dress had gotten filthy. I'll change then."
Mirasol turned to look at her assistant in the distance before hurrying downstairs while holding her dress.
Mirasol became a hot topic of discussion among netizens even before the game began.
(Once again, Mirasol is making a fool of herself!)
(She's such a drama queen! HAHAHA! Mr. Reed's kick is incredible! We're cheering you on from the other side of the screen!)
(The "Most Promising Newbie Award" is a highlight for Crippled Mirasol. Is there a problem with this woman's mind?)
(Brad is such a straight shooter! HAHAHA! He had his waist twisted?)
(Vince doesn't care whom he slams! Why are the Reed men so attractive?)
(Goddess Ivy's expression was as if she was saying, "I see through everything, but I still have to go along with your act?" I'm speechless.)
Because it was a live broadcast, they would not pause the show while waiting for Mirasol to change.
As a result, the rest of the participants were forced to continue once they left.
Wyatt stood there watching Ivy turn around and go inside. The rows of tables and chairs were covered in rusty equipment, and three sides against the wall were cabinets that appeared to be a good place to hide things.
Ivy took her time going through them one by one. Instead, she took a higher step and took a look around.
Wyatt walked over with a smile, "Got a clue?" A treasure map was not exactly a big item and might not be on this floor.
Ivy clearly didn't want to talk to him, let alone discuss her findings with him.
Because they had a special relationship, netizens were more sensitive and suspicious of their interactions. If they say the wrong thing, their names will be trending on social media.
There may even be the talk of "remarriage." This was enough to irritate Ivy.
She rolled her eyes at him and said, "I don't care. You can look for it on your own. We don't need to get in each other's way!"
Ivy then went to the nearest cabinet in search of the map.
The cameraman following them had never seen anything like it.
Wyatt Reed was to be given special attention by the director.
They were all conscientious not to spread any negative rumors and even had a public relations team on standby in case of any mishaps. On the other hand, these two influential presidents were unconcerned about the camera and spoke candidly. This was refreshing content compared to those actors who only knew how to pretend.
Wyatt blinked slightly and followed Ivy as if nothing had happened.
Ivy became agitated when she heard his footsteps. "Are you unable to understand English?"
