The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles)

Chapter 729

"But Milo..."

"No more buts. I don't have time to explain further, but you must understand that if we don't take the initiative now, we'll end up being the ones at a disadvantage!" Milo cut off Clarisse's protest.

"I need to leave immediately. You're in charge here now, but remember, don't touch Noelle for the time being."

"Why not?" Clarisse asked, feeling that Noelle was a bigger threat than Winter, especially since Noelle's face bore such a striking resemblance to Kelly's.

"She's Andy Jones' girlfriend. Is that clear enough for you? If Baker Group wants to establish themselves in Cascade City in the future, we'll need to collaborate with the Jones family there. If we make a move against Andy's woman now, do you think he'll cooperate with us in the future? Don't forget, the Joneses and the Smiths will eventually be under Andy's control."

"Andy!" Clarisse muttered, furrowing her brows together. "How could Noelle be Andy's girlfriend? Andy clearly..."

"It seems you've wasted your time here in Brookville these past six months," Milo replied impatiently. "Andy is connected to the Smiths here. His mother belongs to their family. If you still don't understand, ask Janet about it. In any case, you can't touch her." Milo's secretary sent him the flight information. It was a 4:00 pm flight, and it was already 2:00 pm. Milo hurried to stand up.

"I need to head back to the hotel to pack my things. Remember, don't let anything happen between Charles and Winter. Janet's health can't handle too much stress. And here's her medication. Make sure she takes it regularly. Let me know if you run out!" "Okay," Clarisse replied, gripping the medicine bottle in her hand. Watching Milo leave, she felt a wave of unease.

Milo had come and gone in a rush, and his encounter with Charles had not gone as planned. As soon as he left Capiton, Baker Group's share price plummeted.

Even if he returned now to manage things, it would be difficult for Baker Group to recover, and he would not be able to return to Brookville anytime soon.

...

Meanwhile, due to her participation in the Saint Di commercial and several other subsequent advertisements, Winter's popularity soared.

For a celebrity, having projects was crucial. As long as she kept delivering good performances, people would soon forget the rumors.

The entertainment industry was vast, with countless events occurring daily, so no one would dwell on a single person for too long.

One day, after wrapping up a shoot Winter received a call from an

unknown number. Suzy, who was

holding Winter's phone, was the first

to answer.

The caller was a woman with a harsh tone, and Suzy immediately recognized her voice. "Hello, may I ask who this is?"

"Are you Winter Shaw?" the woman demanded.

"No, I'm Ms. Shaw's assistant. May I ask who's calling? What business do you have with Ms. Shaw?" Suzy asked, trying to remain calm. She stepped aside, glancing at Winter, who was busy removing her makeup.

"Who do you think you are? Let Winter answer the phone," the caller snapped.

"Who is it? Winter asked, setting down her makeup remover. She noticed Suzy's troubled expression and pursed her lips. "Give me the phone."

Winter then took the phone. Before she could say anything, the voice on the other end barked, "Put that slut,

Winter, on the phone right now!"
