The Great Medical Saint (Matthew)

Chapter 188

One of the men looked oddly handsome in his jeans and short hair. He chewed on chewing gum and looked unrestrained.

He held a gold-colored gun in his right hand, which he kept tossing into the air like he was a magician playing with poker cards.

In his left hand, he held a cartridge clip. He loaded the gun single-handedly, his actions swift and trained.

The other oddity wore a suit without a shirt underneath. He was all muscle and lean meat, and he held an iron rod. He was literally a thug in a suit.

When Matthew got up with Lorraine in his arms, both men got to their feet too. The unrestrained man loaded his gun and aimed it straight at Matthew while the thug in the suit approached Matthew, swinging his iron rod.

Everyone else circled Matthew. Xavier stood at a spot high up and burst into laughter. "I was just waiting for you to pick Lorraine up. You're gonna die a horrible death now that you've got a burden in your arms!"

Matthew had long since guessed Xavier's plan, but he'd been more afraid of the latter and the other men using Lorraine's life to threaten him. There was nothing more terrifying than being unable to act because of the potential risks. Xavier had probably been afraid of him giving up on Lorraine, but Matthew was thankful for this. It was a good thing he'd had the chance to save Lorraine.

He looked at the wary men around him, but his attention was actually on the man with the gun. After all, guns were too fast. A single moment of distraction was enough to kill him.

The thug in a suit suddenly said, "I'll kill this dude. You guys can sit back and relax."

At his words, the other men stopped where they were. But the odd man with the gun said, "Times have changed, Metal Mac. I can take him out with a single gunshot-why waste time swinging that stupid rod of yours around? Isn't it tiring?"

Metal Mac said icily, "If you really were that great with a gun, Jack 'Fast-Guns' Link, why did you join the Slithering Snakes Sect to cultivate your body?

"You know there's a rule that we can't use guns. Anyone who breaks it will bring misfortune to the whole sect. Aren't you afraid of getting the sect in trouble?"

Jack's expression shifted at that. Then, he said flippantly, "Whoever set that rule is long dead. Besides, who cares about all those dumb rules? I can give that guy to you since you're so eager to take him out, but I won't give up on my five million dollars. Not a single cent less!"

Metal Mac snorted. "I'm not the one paying. I couldn't care less about the money. Now that I'm gonna make my move, you just need to sit back and watch."

With that, he wielded his iron rod with both hands and swung it. It trembled as it hurtled through the air, and sparks formed when it came into contact with the concrete floor.

Matthew looked grim as he held Lorraine tightly. He was deathly afraid of her getting harmed.

Metal Mac grinned ferociously. "I'll attack you thrice. If I can't kill you within those three strikes, I won't attack you anymore."

Matthew tightened his grip on Lorraine and patted her gently on the back as if he were trying to coax her to sleep. He said softly, "You'd better keep your word." Metal Mac's grin widened. "I'm just worried you won't be able to withstand a single strike."

As he spoke, he darted forward, lifting his iron rod above his head and swinging it downward. He roared, "Go to hell!"

Matthew moved, too. He held Lorraine with his left arm and lunged forward. Before the iron rod could land on him, he'd already arrived before Metal Mac.

He rammed Metal Mac in the chest with his right arm with a move called the Battering Strike.

It sent Metal Mac flying, and Jack shot to his feet at the sight. Matthew took the opportunity to grab the iron rod before throwing it at Jack.

The iron rod pierced Jack in the

heart, making him drop his gun as he stared at the iron rod in shock. "How can this be? You're unarmed and carrying a child while I have a gun! How can this..."

He fell to the ground, unable to finish his sentence. At the same time, Metal Mac also collapsed on the ground.

His chest had caved from Matthew's attack, and blood trickled from all his orifices. He stared at Matthew in despair as his legs twitched. Then, he lay there unmoving.

A pin-drop silence descended upon

the factory Xavier and the other

man were thoroughly dumbstruck at what had just happened. They could only stand there and gape at Matthew. None of them thought about making their move.
