His subordinate frowned before asking, "Sir, wouldn't this upset Lord Kane?"

Joshua sneered.

"Even their chief has to show some respect in front of my uncle. Why should I fear him? Since he has chosen to stand against me, it's only natural that I don't have to play nice."

After a short pause, he ordered, "Notify everyone that Stellar Group's banquet for the city within a city project has been moved up to the night after tomorrow."

That night, in a booth at a bar in Avesburgh, Jack waved at Felix when the former saw him

enter.

"The car has been washed, and the gas tank is full. There shouldn't be any problem with what I've done, right?"

Seeing the car keys being handed over, Felix helplessly remarked, "You're being too polite with me."

Jack smiled. "This is just basic courtesy. We should be transparent with each other about everything since we're close friends!

"Also, even though I just returned, I'm already considered a middle manager in a company. As such, if there's anything I can help with, don't hesitate to ask!"

Ever since Jack found out that Felix's car was rented just for show, the former had been feeling terrible.

He kept wondering if Felix had been going through tough times in recent years, facing difficulties that had turned the latter into someone who would seek worldly pleasures. That wasn't the Felix he knew. But being too straightforward might hurt Felix's pride, so he could only hint at it.

"Sure. If I have difficulties, I will definitely tell you."

Felix didn't think much of what he said since they had always been communicating this

way.

"My girlfriend will come over later; I'll introduce you guys."

Girlfriend, huh? That meant that the person he went to pick up at the airport was his girlfriend.

"My girlfriend is Trina Xenos. I met her abroad. She's two years younger than us and also from Avesburgh. She's a pretty nice lady. After she heard that I came back to Avesburgh for work, she also came back.

Felix smiled in response. "Then she's truly a woman worth investing in. She traveled such a long way just for you, so you shouldn't let her down."

"I won't. I'm not an ungrateful person."

After a while, Trina arrived. She was quite attractive. Trina was the cute type, and she spoke politely.

"Trina, are you planning to find a job here? I have some connections in Avesburgh, so I can help you out."

Trina raised her glass. "Thank you, Felix, but my family is already working on it. If nothing goes wrong, I should be able to work in Stellar Group's office in Avesburgh."

Hearing another person mention Stellar Group, Felix could only nod in response.

"Stellar Group is definitely not something the average companies in Avesburgh can compare to. I wish you the best."

That said, Felix still planned to tell Kane about it. After all, since her family was working on it, no one would notice anything if he just sped things up a bit.

The three chatted and laughed for over 20 minutes when suddenly, a dozen or so men in

black burst in.

"I want everyone to get out!"

After a loud shout, the speaker turned and pointed directly at the table where Felix and the others were sitting.

"You three at this table are the exception!"
