The Unshackled Queen: Never Say Never

Chapter 1946

With a smirk, Hannah countered, “Even disregarding Wallace, why would I hand anything to you? I intend to claim the entire Compton estate.

What makes you think you can challenge me?”

Wilfred glared back, exasperated.

“Clearly, you’re not here in Wallace’s defense!”

“So what?” Hannah shrugged nonchalantly, spreading her hands.

“I’ve already taken control here.

If you think you can challenge that, you’re welcome to try.

I’m not stopping you.

Realizing they were outmatched, Wilfred conceded, “Fine, you win! We’ll see how well you guard this place every day! Let’s go!”

Defeated, Wilfred and his men, concealing their injuries, retreated.

After everyone had departed, Hannah instructed, “Dilan, Dotson, guard the door.

No one enters, not even the hospital staff, unless I come out.

“Understood, boss!” they responded.

Hannah then entered the ward, which was equipped with numerous medical devices surrounding Wallace’s bed.

She hurried to assess his pulse and heartbeat, finding the results disheartening.

The man who had once brimmed with vitality now seemed aged well beyond his years.

With the truth about her mother’s death revealed, Hannah found her resentment towards him had dissipated.

Gazing at his pallid, unconscious face, she remarked impassively, “Whether you can hear me or not, I can cure the poison.

Her voice softened as she continued, “Father, for mother’s sake and for the Compton family, you must fight through this.

Uncertain if Wallace could perceive her words in his comatose state, Hannah held onto hope that her presence and words might have some effect.

Her visit was brief.

Upon exiting, she encountered Keith waiting outside, his arm bandaged.

“Hannah,” he greeted her, his face drawn with discomfort.

Noticing his discomfort, Hannah expressed concern.

“Your arm looks bad.

You should rest.

I’ll arrange for someone to secure this place tonight.

No one will enter the ward.

Keith nodded weakly, then added, “There’s something else I need to discuss, but it’s private.

“Alright,” Hannah agreed.

She turned to Dotson, instructing firmly, “Stay on guard here.

Alert me immediately if anything changes.

Dotson leaned against the door, reassuringly stating, “Boss, don’t worry.

No one can enter as long as we’re here.

Hannah led Keith to the hospital’s exit passageway.

“What did you need to tell me?”

“The family company’s seal has gone missing.

I suspect it was stolen by someone close to us,” Keith revealed.

“What seal?” Hannah inquired, puzzled.

“It’s not just any seal.

It’s the company’s official seal.

It vanished the night our father was hospitalized,” Keith explained, his brow furrowed.
