The other man was momentarily taken aback when his gaze fell on Zach. “Winter, who’s

this?”

Clearly, he wanted Winter to do the introductions personally.

Zach was also curious to hear how she would introduce him. Although his expression remained composed, his ears had pricked up long ago as a glimmer of hope flickered in his

eyes.

“Oh, he’s Zach Graham, the eldest son of the Graham family,” Winter said casually.

Her answer wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t the one either man wanted to hear.

“He’s your…” Winter’s colleague, Patrick Tremaine, pressed further.

This time, Zach didn’t wait for her response and answered immediately, “Boyfriend.”

“I’m her boyfriend,” he repeated once more for emphasis.

Patrick turned to Winter with a questioning look.

Zach found this so ridiculous that he almost laughed. Without hesitation, he slid his arm around Winter’s waist and pulled her closer possessively.

Winter played along and leaned gently against him with a soft smile. She nodded at Patrick. “It’s true.”

Once he left, Winter straightened up and swatted Zach’s hand off her shoulder. “Alright, that’s enough. He’s gone now.”

A loud smack was heard as Winter slapped his hand away. Zach withdrew his hand and shook it with a grimace. “Ouch! Can’t you be more gentle?”

“No,” Winter said flatly.

“You’re becoming pretty cocky now. First, you don’t come downstairs. Then, you ignore my calls. You’re really something else!” Zach complained.

“I was wondering who was being so annoyed. I hung up, and yet someone keeps calling again and again, Mr. Graham, are you bored or something? Are you trying to blow up my phone just for fun?”

Zach exploded in anger, “If you came down on time, would I have had to call over and over?

“On time? Did we agree to meet?” Winter looked genuinely confused.

widened. “Didn’t you say earlier that you suddenly didn’t have to work overtime tonight?”

“I did, but I didn’t ask you to pick me up.”

She wasn’t going to work through the night, but that didn’t mean she could leave immediately. Winter still had some work to finish. She wouldn’t have asked Zach to pick

her up.

Besides, it was unnecessary as she drove herself to work.

Winter almost doubted her memory after seeing Zach’s confident attitude and his insistence on being in the right. She wondered if she had indeed forgotten she had asked Zach to pick her up.

Zach’s gaze flickered, and his tone softened slightly. “What’s wrong with that? Is it so wrong for me to come pick you up? Sure, you didn’t ask me to, but as your boyfriend… Well, your boyfriend in name, I should at least be thoughtful enough to do that!”

Winter retorted, “With your tone and the way you’re speaking to me right now, your thoughtfulness is nonexistent.”

Zach froze for two seconds. Then, he suddenly spoke in a subdued tone, and his volume dropped to a whisper, “Winter, how about now?”

Finally, a smile appeared on Winter’s face. “Well… it’s acceptable.”

“Perfect! My princess, your carriage awaits!” Zach immediately opened the

Winter was speechless. Zach was such a pervert!
