When fate plays its hand Chapter 769

Chapter 0769

Madison piped up, “We did!”

“So quickly?” Miranda asked.

“It’s just a day tour to places near the city. We are done after a one–day trip. How long do you think it would take?”

Miranda shifted her puzzled look to Sebastian. If she remembered correctly, his original itinerary was for a three–day, two–night trip. He even revised it a few times, adding more attractions each time.

Finishing the trip in one day? That didn’t seem realistic.

Just as Miranda opened her mouth to ask, Sebastian interrupted her by clearing his throat. “Yes, it’s a one–day trip. It doesn’t matter as long as we have fun.”

Madison chimed in, “Miranda, let me tell you, Seb brought a huge bag on the trip. It’s even bigger than me!”

Sebastian was at a loss for words as she continued, “He wouldn’t even tell me what was inside when I asked him. I didn’t see him take anything out the whole time, either. He hauled that giant bag all the way up and down the Octagon Ravines. He’s a role model for young people like us!”

Sebastian didn’t know whether he should be annoyed or thank her for the compliment.

Miranda looked surprised for two seconds before she guessed what was in Sebastian’s bag. After all, a three–day trip would require them to bring extra clothes and toiletries. Madison likely didn’t realize the original trip was for three days.

Sebastian deliberately cleared his throat once more. He was hoping that Miranda wouldn’t say anything. She nodded knowingly as she understood his intentions.

Only Madison was still clueless about their interaction. “Miranda, the feeling of taking a day off after finishing a big project is such an amazing feeling! I slept until noon, then we went out for a day trip…”

Miranda was taken aback. So, they didn’t even manage to go on the outing for an entire day, let alone the original plan for a three–day trip?

She continued, “Seb kept rushing me to go out, which was so annoying. Life is about pursuing pleasure. Of course, we should do things at our own pace. Who says you have to leave at a certain time?

“My dark circles disappeared instantly after having some beauty sleep. My eyes were getting smaller back when we were pulling all–nighters.”

Sebastian piped up, “Is that so? Haven’t your eyes always been this size? I don’t see any difference.”

Madison put her hands on her hips and glared at him. “Sebastian, don’t make me unleash my anger to teach you a lesson!”

Sebastian quickly shut up and made his escape.

Now that the trio were reunited, they jumped straight into the topic discussion. Despite how much Madison and Sebastian bickered, they were completely serious once in work

mode.

Playing or having fun was one thing, but it was a different story entirely when it came to academic work. The three of them worked very efficiently and finished their discussion by

4.00 pm.

Madison let out a long sigh and leaned back in her seat. She stretched her sore back and said, “We were pretty fast. I’m starving now. Let’s see if there is anything to eat…”

With that, she ran to the lounge to rummage through the snacks she had stowed away earlier. For lunch, they had just ordered some simple takeout to fill their stomachs. Now, Madison was absolutely famished.

In no time, she pulled out a bag of chips from the shelf. Sebastian was just returning from the restroom.

However, Madison had already opened the bag before Sebastian could stop her.

He shouted, “Don’t eat that!”

Madison looked at him like she had seen a ghost. How could a guy take so little time to finish using the restroom?

Just as Sebastian rushed over and grabbed the bag of chips out of her hands, Madison used her quick reflexes to grab a handful and stuffed them into her mouth.

Sebastian shook his head in resignation. He had never seen anyone love snacks this much!

Madison only giggled with glee. She looked a little too pleased with herself.

Sebastian said, “You’ll be running an extra mile tomorrow morning.”

“What?” she exclaimed.

Standing aside, Miranda watched their comical interactions with amusement.

Once she was done laughing, she said, “We’ve all been working hard lately. To reward ourselves, I’ve booked a private room at Tasty Bistro. I also reserved their signature
