Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 746

"Is this...?" Sherilyn watched him, trying to gauge his next move.

Francis had already guessed the situation but asked anyway, "Eddie didn't come looking for you, did he?"

"Eddie?"

Sherilyn was puzzled by his question and honestly replied, "He did come by in the morning, but after dropping me off at the studio, he left." So, Eddie wasn't here.

Francis felt a sinking feeling in his heart, unsure of how to proceed, "Sherilyn, if Eddie comes looking for you, could you give me a heads-up?" What did he mean by that? Sherilyn was surprised, "Big bro, can't you get in touch with him?"

"Yeah."

After hesitating for a moment, Francis nodded, his expression unreadable.

"Big bro..." Sherilyn hesitated before asking, "Did something happen to Eddie?"

"Well..."

Struggling for a moment and weighing his options, Francis finally said, "It's not my place to say. Let's wait until we get in touch with Eddie. He'll tell you himself." "Okay."

Sherilyn nodded, her mind filled with questions.

It seemed like something serious had happened.

By late afternoon, after Sherilyn had finished her scenes, she left the studio to find it had started to rain.

Checking her phone, she found no missed calls or unread messages.

Had there been no word from Eddie?

After a moment's hesitation, she dialed his number.

"The number you have dialed is switched off."

Still no connection.

Sherilyn frowned, wondering what could have happened.

She returned to Sunset Ridge Community.

As soon as she opened the door, Jenna rushed over, "Mommy!"

Her big eyes scanned behind her mother, "Where's Mr. Gilbert?" Lately, Mommy and Mr. Gilbert usually came back together.

Sherilyn picked up her daughter and explained as they walked inside, "Mr. Gilbert has some family issues, so

he won't be coming over for the next

fem

Jenna immediately pouted.

Not wanting to see her daughter upset, Sherilyn teased, "Does Jenna only like Mr. Gilbert now and not Mommy?"

"That's not true!" Jenna exclaimed, looking worried, "I love Mommy!"

"Really?" Sherilyn raised an eyebrow,

"Then having Mommy here with Jenna is just as good, right? Lately, Jenna has only been sticking to Mr. Gilbert."

"I want Mommy!"

Jenna hugged Sherilyn tightly, burrowing into her embrace, "Mommy, give Jenna a bath, read a story, and tuck Jenna into bed!"

"Sure, darling." Sherilyn suppressed a laugh, relieved to have diverted her daughter's attention.

That night, after tucking Jenna into bed, she picked up her phone again.

Still, there was no message.

Sherilyn couldn't help but frown, her feelings a mix of confusion and worry.

...

The next morning, before heading to

the studio, Sherilyn made a stop at

the hospital to pick up some

medicine for Jenna, who was about

to run out.

Exiting the pharmacy and making her way through the crowded lobby, the place was bustling with morning activity.

While navigating through the crowd, Sherilyn accidentally bumped into someone, causing the bag of medicine to fall to the ground.

"I'm so sorry."

The person immediately apologized and bent down with Sherilyn to pick up the scattered medicine.

As they collected the items, "Sis?"

Sherilyn froze for a moment, then looked up to see Galen grinning at her with a look of surprise.

"It really is you, sis!"

Frowning, Sherilyn took the medicine box from his hand and placed it back in the bag, then turned to leave. "Sis! Wait!"

Galen followed, grabbing her wrist with a concerned expression, "What's wrong? Are you sick? What happened?"
