Chapter 288
Chapter 288
The security had already called the police, who apprehended those responsible for the chaos. The livestream ended the moment the officers arrived. The Locke family members forced smiles as they sent their guests away.
Once all the guests were gone, William's expression immediately darkened. He stomped back into the hall with heavy footsteps.
The chaos had turned the carefully arranged hall into a mess. He glanced around, exhaling a deep breath, and approached Madison.
Josephine was applying iodine to the wound on Madison's arm. "Does it hurt? If it does, just say so, and I'll be gentler."
Madison shook his head. "It's fine."
"What do you mean 'fine'? You've lost so much blood!"
William tried suppressing his anger and smiled. "Vincent, I'm really sorry about today. I apologize for the embarrassment."
Vincent waved his hand. "No one expected this to happen."
He noticed William's fury and said, "Don't blame this on Maddie! She's also a victim. Who could have anticipated that these people would act so recklessly?" "And why were the security measures so inadequate for such an important party? Why did the security take so long to respond when something went wrong?" William forced a couple of dry laughs, trying to brush off the situation.
Vincent then signaled for Josephine and Jordan to leave. Jordan didn't want to go. He looked worriedly at Madison, feeling that the Locke family would bully her. Madison smiled at him.
Jordan whispered, "Ms. Madison, you've had quite a shock today. Do you want to rest at my place?"
Madison shook her head. "No need."
Reluctantly, Jordan followed his parents out.
He expressed his concerns once he was outside, "They're definitely going to blame Ms. Madison for what happened. She's the one who got hurt, and no one even checked on her."
Josephine sighed. "Tanya and the others are so biased. Rebecca wasn't hurt at all, but they were all fussing over her, worried that she might be scared. Maddie's arm was cut, and not a single person showed concern for her." Vincent held Josephine's hand, trying to reassure her, "William wouldn't be so inconsiderate."
William doted on Rebecca, so he shouldn't be too harsh on his other daughter.
Jordan let out a cold laugh. "They dared to cause trouble for Ms. Madison in front of all the guests. Who knows how they'll bully her behind closed doors?"
After walking a few steps, Jordan stopped again. "No, we can't leave Ms. Madison alone at the Locke residence."
Vincent grabbed Jordan's arm. "Unless Maddie willingly leaves the Locke family and cuts ties with them, our presence will only make her situation there worse."
"It's better for her to cut ties with that family now."
William paced back and forth in the Locke residence's living room as his expression grew darker.
After several laps, he abruptly stopped and declared, "Starting tomorrow, you're not allowed to stream anymore. For the sake of our family's reputation, we'll hold a press conference first thing in the morning. You need to apologize on camera." Madison's silence only fueled his anger further. "You've caused such a huge mess, and you're just going to stay quiet?"
Madison looked up at the furious William. "I won't stop streaming. I've said before, that's my career."
"What career? The one that makes our family look bad? The one that brings shame to our family?" Jason jumped up.
"Look at what you're doing! Are you really that short on money? Do our family really need your contributions? You had the nerve to scam a measly 300 grand?"
He exhaled deeply. "Are you planning to get back at us this way?"
