The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 289

Chapter 289

Madison replied, "I'm not."

Jason let out a heavy sigh. "Dad, give her some money and send her abroad! If she keeps causing trouble, who knows what kind of chaos she'll bring next? Those people almost hurt Becky today!" Ethan took the tea from the household staff and handed it to Rebecca, gently comforting her, "The tea might be a bit bitter, but you must drink it. You were so scared earlier that your face turned pale." Rebecca took the tea, hunching her shoulders as she nodded. "I'll drink it. Ethan, I'm so scared! They looked like they were going to kill someone."

Ethan ruffled her hair. "Don't be afraid. I promise this will never happen again."

After saying that, he turned to Madison with an icy gaze. He towered over Madison and demanded, "Tell me, what do you want? How much do you want for you to behave?" Madison pressed her lips together.

Ethan bent down with a fierce glint in his eyes. "I warned you on your first day here. I told you to behave and never hurt Becky. And what have you done?"

Madison remained silent.

"Madison, I've put up with you for too long. If it weren't for the fact that you still have our blood in you, do you think I would've let you off the hook?

"Do you know how much Becky was looking forward to this birthday party? She wanted to peacefully coexist with you and introduce you to everyone at this party, but what did you do?

"All you do is compete with her, trying to one-up her at every turn. Do you want everyone outside to think our family treats you differently? "Ask yourself, how have we treated you?"

Ethan gritted his teeth and tugged at Madison's dress. "Is it necessary for you to overshadow Becky at the party?"

Madison closed her eyes, listening without revealing any emotion.

This only made Ethan angrier.

He said to William, "Dad, we really can't let this go on any longer. We need to manage her properly."

William nodded. "I know. I've been too lenient with her, thinking she would behave, but I didn't expect..."

"We've missed the chance to teach her for the past several decades. It's not too late to start now. At the very least, we can't let her ruin our family."

Tanya comforted Rebecca before walking over. She sat beside Madison and sighed gently. "Maddie, I know you're talented and quite capable in your field. But you can't keep going like this. Just look at what you did today. "Our family isn't lacking in money. You could just stay home, or we could send you abroad to study. What do you think?"

Madison slowly opened her eyes and looked at Tanya.

"Do you think what I did was wrong?"

Tanya was briefly silent. "It doesn't matter anymore. You've caused a lot of trouble, you know? Maddie, you're not a child anymore. If you make a mistake, you have to face the consequences. That's the most basic principle." Tanya wore a gentle expression. "We won't harm you; we only want what's best for you,"

Jason sat nearby; his heart aching as he watched Rebecca. He frowned while looking at her sipping the tea. Upon hearing that, he stood up impatiently. "Mom, why are you saying so much to her?"

He grabbed Madison's arm. "Madison, I'm warning you. If you don't start behaving, don't blame me for being rude!"

"What are you going to do?"

A sudden voice cut in

unexpectedly.

Everyone turned in shock toward the direction of the door.
