The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 296

Chapter 296

When Wanda came in with supper, she saw Madison standing by the window in the blue and white hospital gown.

The bright moonlight cast a cold glow over Madison's figure.

Wanda turned on the lights, dispelling the somber moonlight in the ward.

"Ms. Locke, what are you doing out of bed? You're barely dressed. You shouldn't stand by the window in this wind!" Wanda quickly draped a jacket over Madison. "You barely ate at the banquet, so I brought you some food." She guided Madison to the table and settled her in a chair. "Mr. Harvey has taken Ms. Wynn home. He asked me to tell you to get a good rest tonight. If there's anything, he'll handle it tomorrow." "Mm."

Madison began to eat.

"Wanda, if I had died at the banquet today, would it have been irresponsible of me toward you all?"

Wanda was busy arranging the expensive dress that Madison had changed out of. It was worth many millions-enough to buy many villas.

She continued working and replied, "Why would you say that, Ms. Locke? Were you trying to let it happen? I'm sure you don't want something like that to happen to you!" "What if I had the chance to avoid it?"

Wanda paused her actions of hanging up the dress. "You had the chance to avoid it, but you didn't choose to, right?"

Madison nodded.

Wanda pondered for a long moment before asking, "If you were given another chance, would you still choose to avoid it?" Another chance?

Madison thought for a moment. "I would."

Wanda smiled. "So, you do have an answer in your heart! You don't think you did anything wrong."

Madison tightened her grip on the spoon. "But I didn't think of your futures."

Just like Sebastian said.

If she died, what would happen to Yara?

What would happen to Wanda?

What about Shane and Helena?

She hadn't thought about any of this.

Wanda couldn't help but laugh. "Ms. Locke, you really are a good boss. Even when you're at the brink of death, you're still considering your employees' futures?"

She chuckled. "Ms. Locke, you have no idea how great a boss you are to an employee like me. High salary, living in a mansion, driving luxury cars, staying in five-star hotels, and getting to experience all sorts of interesting things. Countless people envy my job. "If I could, I'd definitely want you to live forever or at least not die before me. But..."

Wanda looked at Madison with a helpless expression. "But if this is your choice, I'd still support you even though I'd be sad."

Madison didn't say anything back.

She didn't think she was wrong.

Sebastian's feelings belonged to him alone; she couldn't choose to sacrifice them because of her safety!

Yet just like Sebastian said, she hadn't considered what would happen to Wanda and the others if she died...

She hadn't even thought about the possibility of her death.

Madison's gaze grew colder.

...

The following day, she was awakened by the loud noise of arguing. She threw off the covers, put on her soft slippers, and walked toward the

door.

"What do you mean we shouldn't disturb Madison? Harvey, we're doing this for her good. Do you know what people are saying about Maddie online right now?" Chapter 296

It was Tanya's voice.
